What age did you put your baby upstairs to sleep?

... DD is still in her moses basket in the lounge with us until we head off to bed ourselves. What age did you start putting your baby to bed upstairs whilst you remain downstairs until bedtime? I can't remember what I did with DS.

Thanks for all the insights. I guess it comes down to instinct. I don't fancy feedin her on my lonesome all evening but then generally she's very good and efficient at just emptying the boob and zonking out. DH doesn't think its a good idea as he thinks I'll just spend all evening up and down the stairs and when I am down I'll sit and worry about her. (She was admitted with an infection when she was 3 wks old and put on a drip, and he doesn't think I'm over it...) (I am!) I plan to coincide it with her moving out of the moses basket. Seems as good a time as any.

Just as an experiment I sat upstairs tonight, dimmed lights etc, it has made bugger all of a difference and dh is quite unhappy about all the texts asking for food to be brought up etc!

Glad to hear of cluster feeding actually ending for someone! I know logically that it will, but seems never ending atm!

hi I'm a first time mum so sorry if this seems stupid!

I live in a flat so it's easy to put dd who is 10wo in her cot in the dark in the evening as it's practically the same room. She sleeps much better there than in the lounge. however I stay with my parents a lot and to do this at their house she would have to go upstairs and the advice says not to do this. Is there still dangerous to do this even if we use a baby monitor?

steeplearningcurve, I'm pretty sure you'l be safe with a monitor and checking often. Or could you have her in a moses basket or on you when at your parents?
