Do (or did) your kids call you "mummy"?

And if it's did, at what age did they stop?

dd1 and dd2 call me mummy (aged 8 and 6), but I've noticed that they are unusual among their peers. I called my mum and dad mummy and daddy until I was about 15 or 16!

DD1 now at 3.5 yrs has gone through the whole range - mummy, mum, realname, mama and now mamon!!

hopefully she'll find one that she likes and stick with it soon ...

Until he was about 2 ds called dh Mama and me nothing!
Now he calls me Mummy and dh Papa (Dutch) If you says Mum, I tell him it isn't my name, so I hope he'll keep doing it for a few years yet.

My Mum called her parents Mummy and Daddy until they died, I never thought it sounded odd, until I realised that I call them Mum and Dad and have done since I was in my early teens.

What do you call your parents in law? My FIL wants to be called Pa, which is odd to me. I want to call him by name, he thinks that is too informal.

I avoid calling my MIL anything, if I have to call her anything I use her name. She would like me to call her Mum (or Mom, which I detest) but I can't bring myself to do it, it just sticks in my craw.

DS 8 has just twigged that his freinds say Mum and asked if it was OK to call me that when we are out. Awww, He still calls me Mummy all the rest of the time but wont let me kiss him in the playground .

Further to my previous post in which I said my 2.5yr old ds calls me Mummy - he has now started to call me Bummy. Including today in the library queue whilst checking out our books - "Bummy, bummy, this is bummy" in the volume, and with the glee known only to 2.5yr olds!

My boys (5 and 4) call me Mummy, although occasionally Mum creeps in. I love being called Mummy and don't answer if they call me Mum!

I think that my two call me Mummy mostly (5 and 6 1/2). I'm not that bothered to be honest. They went throguh a phase of wanting to call us by our first names and dh got very upset, so I had to keep explaining that mummy and daddy were our special names that only they got to call us. Seemed to do the trick. I call my parents Mama and Papa and always have done. I refer to them as my mum and dad or my parents, and I guess that's because of the teasing thing, but also because really to me those really are their names - it always seems odd when anyone calls them there real names! They just call each other darling, I think. In fact they were so useless about thinking of a grandparent name they were happy with that they children call them that (not darling) too. I think that's a bit sad as I would have liked them to have proper grandparent names (and can be muddling as Mama and Mummy sound too similar).
