My mum had 3 kids and says she was always cooking. Theres no mention of tempers or sulks or sleepness nights or anything Has she forgot or were we all little angels back then? or
Do we look into things too much now?

I "grizzled" an awful lot. And mucked up my big sisters' games (big age gap).

I was shy, withdrawn, very "anti-social" in their view.

blueteddy · 21/09/2005 19:13

Oh loads!!!! I was apparantly the worst child that has ever walked this earth!!!
I was very stubborn & fought with my sister a lot!

Gobbledigook · 21/09/2005 19:13

None. I was perfecto!

blossom2 · 21/09/2005 19:13

i was a nightmare teenager .... also justed to sneak out of the hse to play with mates when i was about 9/10 yrs ....

LilacLotus · 21/09/2005 19:15

i wet the bed until i was 11. because i have a kidney abnormality. and because my dad teased and pestered me about it every single day. i didn't get washed as such. just a wipe with a flannel. kids bullied me because i smelt sometimes. family and visitors commented on the mattress drying in front of the kitchen radiator. my counsellor found this to be the main cause of my low self esteem.

Papillon · 21/09/2005 19:18

My mother had to chip her teeth on a Croquet mallet to conceive me... so she tells me!! I was the senstive child who had a boisterous older brother - so I would not breast feed cos of being bopped on the head, and then had to be put in hospital after refusing to eat at around 18 months. Eat fine now though, it was not a long term disorder! Apart from that we were all little angels because we were part of the plunket, Truby King era.

I think we do analyse children much more these days... for better or worse.

franke · 21/09/2005 19:22

I sulked for England. Still do actually.

fqueenzebra · 21/09/2005 19:28

That's awful, LilacLotus. I know someone who had a similar sort of problem but with her bowels... not diagnosed until she was 7yo (but her parents didn't bully her about it, at least).

I'm the youngest of four. The eldest and me were premature and in SCBU. My brother didn't talk until he was 4. My sister (3rd child) was a nightmare - they used to push her pram to the far end of the house in the night to stop her crying waking up the elder two.

Donbean · 21/09/2005 19:50

She says that she had no trouble with us what so ever, He just wasnt interested and so doesnt know.
As i remember it, i was according to the things she used to say to me and evil, nasty trouble causing little bitch. At around age 4 i remember that little converstaion.

Donbean · 21/09/2005 19:51

Its more like...what trouble have you had with your parents? in my case!

Tortington · 21/09/2005 19:56

i was an only longed for child whose father died. i was considered to be the perfect child by my mum who thinks i am a terrible adult - hard to live up to nostalgia especially if its perfect.

KBear · 21/09/2005 19:58

Aged 9, couldn't sleep, ate everything edible in the house including stealing the biscuits from the tin when mum and dad were watching The Sweeney. Completely hysterical for no apparent reason, lots of other crazy behaviour.

Doc told mum I needed more attention (she was mortified as I was much loved and attended to!) but I was finally diagnosed as having a dangerously over-active thyroid. A month in hospital, lovely darling daughter returned (ahem, that's me!).

Another, "see I told you I was ill" story!!!

bigdonna · 21/09/2005 20:43

i could not talk till i was three then made up for it by never shutting up(i still have not changed) i also screamed every time i wanted my own way and was a whinger i sound like a nice child(not)

When i was born apparently my mam cryed for days as my head was huge but the Doctors said i was fine.
They then put me next to an open window (my Birthday is December) and i went blue!

I was a mistake, they didn't want any more kids.
They kept me anyway hoping a would be a boy.

Bit of a dissapointment all round really wasn't i?

Angeliz · 21/09/2005 20:46

charliecat, my mam would have us all beleive that we were angels all the time and she was cool as a cucumber!

I distinctly remember all 3 of us constantly getting swiped in the back of the car when she was driving ( and she had long nails).

Aero · 21/09/2005 21:02

Constant rows over the state of my bedroom, but that's about it. Still pretty untidy and disorganised, but not quite a total slob!!

expatinscotland · 21/09/2005 21:04

I became a socialist at 14 and had a penchant for older men, particularly if they were French.
