my ds won't eat bread!
soooooo restricting to find him items for a quick tea!
Nursery always dish up sandwiches for tea which he doesn't eat.....and he needs to be eating as he is on the lean side.

what everyday things will your dc not eat, and does anyones dc now eat the everyday things they once refused?

Cheese
Rice
Pasta
All fruit
All veg
Potatoes (unless they're mashed)

Yeah.. mealtimes are loads of fun.

nappyzoneloveschinesefood · 01/09/2010 20:49

DD i dont like mash
ds i dont like chips
dd i dont like egg
DD I dont like pie

We do eat healthily i hasten to add....

Doodleydoo · 01/09/2010 20:49

dragonfly - mine too! All of the above - will eat cereal including shreddies without milk but not with, will drink milk Confused
mine will eat bread but without anything on it
won't touch anything else though......currently lives on bread, banana's, innocent smoothie (only the green one) sometimes apple, cheerio's and milk. great diet.....Sad

peggotty · 01/09/2010 20:49

Dd eats no vegetables at all. Apart from very well cooked carrot batons absolutely smothered in tomato sauce Hmm. Oh although today she did eat 2 circles of cucumber for the first time since she was a baby Shock. SHe is 5.

midnightexpress · 01/09/2010 20:49

If only they both liked the same things and hated the same things.

DS1 doesn't like meat or lots of fruit
DS2 doesn't like baked beans, jacket potatoes
Soooo annoying. Anything quick and easy is disliked by one or the other of them.

Though there are a few chinks starting to appear in their resistance (they're 3.7 and nearly 5). I live in hope.

Doodleydoo · 01/09/2010 20:50

oh and fig rolls, but they have to be tesco's own brand Hmm do you think they count as one of your five a day (crosses fingers and runs for pelting of rotting fruit in our fruit bowl.....)Grin

pushmepullyou · 01/09/2010 20:53

DD 21 months won't eat

cheese
eggs
tuna
any veg except sweetcorn and peas
soup or any 'wet' food except yoghurt
milk except on cereal
porridge
anything in a blue bowl Hmm

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/09/2010 20:53

DS wont eat potatos unless they come in the form of smileys or chips.
For his darling precious childminder he will eat roast potatos and mashed potato.
I give up.

TriplePachyderm · 01/09/2010 20:54

gecko isn't keen on bread or potatoes, will eat them sometimes

Bonsoir · 01/09/2010 20:56

Anything green.

HeadFairy · 01/09/2010 20:58

ds won't eat eggs, meat (other than chicken nuggets) fish (other than fish fingers) any vegetables other than peas and sweetcorn. Will only eat carrots if they're raw, cooking them makes the poisonous dontcha know? He'll only eat baked beans with a smiley face drawn on them in tomato ketchup (yup, I created that particular rod for my own back)

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel, we're on holiday in France at the moment and in the past two days he's eaten fried whitebait and pasta carbonara - with gusto I might add!

FatGirlThin · 01/09/2010 20:58

mince - so no spag bol/shepherds pie/chilli.
V. annoying.

feedthegoat · 01/09/2010 21:00

It would be easier to tell you what ds will eat Grin.

But definately won't eat

Potatoes except chips/smiley faces
Anything in sauce/gravy (except for spag bol)
Rice
Beans
Pastry
Custard
Cake

He is also allergic to eggs for added fun!

He eats mountains of fruit and veg though so not all bad. He got slightly better when I stopped making such a song and dance over what he ate.

Portofino · 01/09/2010 21:02

cheese
eggs
any meat apart from ham and roast chicken legs and (cheap) beef burgers - won't do the nice, lean, minced steak ones at all....

Though she eats all of these things at school and my cooking isn;t THAT bad Hmm

Portofino · 01/09/2010 21:04

And she made DH and I "tomates farcies" the other day, but wouldn't touch them herself. She will eat an omelette if she has made it herself. With sugar sprinkled on it...

pinksancerre · 01/09/2010 21:04

Dislike is probably too strong a description - but ds prefers not to eat potato in any form except crisps Hmm

mitochondria · 01/09/2010 21:04

My bigger one (5) does eat cereal but only dry - no milk.

He'll eat any vegetable you like, apart from peas. Why peas? If you had to pick a vegetable to not eat, I mean.

He also doesn't like raisins. I thought all children were supposed to like raisins, hence the little packets of them to put in lunch boxes.

The smaller one (4) won't eat anything that is in sauce, or with sauce, or near sauce (not including ketchup).

bostonfall · 01/09/2010 21:04

Anything junk or snack - you may think this is a good thing!!! This can be difficult if out and about and you want to just grab something to go.

No burgers/sausages/chicken nuggets/chips/potato in any form actually/sandwiches/crackers/wraps etc.

stainesmassif · 01/09/2010 21:07

Rice
Pasta
Potatoes
Any vegetables
Any meat
So, toast for tea again ds?
On the other had, he will eat any fruit and is very adventurous when it comes to desserts....

PatTheHammer · 01/09/2010 21:08

Herbs, in anything.

Anything green that is smaller than a pea has to be picked out and treated with extreme caution.

Or black bits that might be pepper.

So thats either very bland food or adding herbs, ground pepper etc after DD's portion is removed.

All other veg fine and strangely lettuce (which is kinda leafy and herby I would say?) is perfectly acceptable.

BythewayItsStillMe · 01/09/2010 21:10

Tomatoes are the only thing DS will not eat at all.

But, the 3yr old reserves the right to change his mind at any point during the meal/day/week/month, so its a total shot in the dark whether he'll eat what you put on his plate. Even if he did eat it the day before Hmm

drivingmisscrazy · 01/09/2010 21:16

DD 19 months actually pretty good (especially compared to this lot :o) but does not seem to like:

red meat
yogurt (will sometimes eat, but not an enthusiast)
carrots
tuna (though loves most other fish)

mixed together food - which is decidedly not helpful with our attempts to eat as a family Hmm

CaptainNancy · 01/09/2010 23:23

Anything that is not white or beige; anything that is dry (except dry cheerios); meat; umm... almost anything really. But this is only at home- at nursery he eats everything (particularly on mondays, when he seems especially hungry after a weekend at home) Hmm

DC1 eats everything thank goodness.
