If you are keen on mythology names, I think it's best to hope for a girl, the names are less confrontational!

I think Cyclops is better. It has a certain edge to it. Or what about Minotaur? Medusa?

Or Odysseus? Virgil? the possibilities re endless. If the only criterion is Greek then how about Stavros?

Yes a shame, I do like Adonis. It would be an unfair burden on him though (although he would naturally be gorgeous, to me anyway!)

If you're looking at Greek names it wouldn't be Hercules, it's Herakles (the formaer is the Roman version)

I know a Herakles, an Aries (pro. Ar-ris, nor Air-rees) and a Paris, but they're all actually Greek. I'm not sure it works otherwise.

I asked Dh if anyone uses Adonis, and he laughed but he suggested Antonis (pro as if the t is a d) which sounds similar, but is the slightly easier to live up to 'Anthony'

Hasn't that bloke from Blur named all his children in this way? one is called Hercules, one is Galileo and one is Archimedes. Or summat.

I do know a little Ulysses and I find that rather great, actually!

Atlas is on my list. I'm a fan of Greek names in general, actually. I like Ulysses, Archimedes and Aramis. I think Hercules is a bit obnoxious though, and when I suggested Atlas before it was made clear that most people would think he was named after a map.
