I love it. Unusual but not pretentious, charming for a DS and endearing for a man. Anyone else?

Just looked up Bamber and it means "tree trunk" or a German nickname for a short fat person.

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:00

funny - I'm not sad. My taste doesn't exactly enjoy popular approval on MN, I'm used to it

What's the message title?

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:02

scurryfunge - Really? Haha. I don't really care about meanings anyway.

It is probably due a revival

scurryfunge · 09/06/2010 00:03

I think tree trunk, in a solid, dependable kind of way

LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:03

Not on this planet.

funnysinthegarden · 09/06/2010 00:05

ML, my name choices deffo do not attain public approval, hence the reason I never asked whether anyone liked Fabian or Raphael (Rafe for short). I knew everyone would go urrrrrrgh! Still they are my babies names, and I like them

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:05

LTBR - I think you've made your point.

It's not relevant, but PortiaNovmerriment there is new evidencethat Jeremy Bamber is innocent.

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:06

funny - Cheers

BTW ML, are you having a boy? When are you due? Boys are great

LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:09

You'll never forget about that damned poinsettia will you?

LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:15

What other names do you like?

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:18

Well, my favs right now are (excluding Bamber) Atticus, Eden and Teddy.

OP posts:
LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:24

Well they're all better than Bamber.

I didn't like Atticus before but it's growing on me.

Eden I'd think of a girl's name but it could work for a man.

Teddy is cute for a baby/young boy but I don't think it works for a man, unless you'd put Edward on the birth certificate.

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:27

I think Teddy would be shortened to Ted for a man. Not keen on Edward, but I do like Edmund as a MN. And I know that Eden works on guys; I know one and it suits him really well.

I still like Bamber though I will prevail!

LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:29

For your son's sake I hope not.

Stick with Atticus or Eden. They're much nicer.

funnysinthegarden · 09/06/2010 00:34

hmmmm, Ted is great as is Atticus (what would you shorten it to?) Eden id nice too. I would have loved to use Nye, but Anurine is too much like urine...........

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:39

Atticus basically doesn't have a NN, the only one I could think of is Atty, which could catch on I suppose. I think I may just stop listening to other people, as there's never a consensus anyway.

OP posts:
LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:41

Well there was one on Bamber.

I didn't think about Ted when he's an adult. It would work.

LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 00:41

And Atty sounds fine to me.

meadowlarks · 09/06/2010 00:54

Glad you like something Bamber is lovely to me, but maybe I'm just exceptionally weird.

OP posts:
LetThereBeRock · 09/06/2010 01:16

That would explain it.

Hedwig3 · 09/06/2010 12:42

Bamber is fabulous! I demand that you go for it!

Otherwise, Atticus.
