Interesting Lulu, think I feel the same (fantasising that dh has actually agreed to this one now) - like the name in full the most as it's the 'Rom' bit that I especially like. Don't know why!

Rockbird · 14/05/2010 16:35

withorwithoutyou they're Anna and Isobel but SIL will always mourn the Eloise she never had...

withorwithoutyou · 14/05/2010 16:47

Thanks Rockbird.

Interestingly enough the only middle ground we can find at the moment is Isabella! I must have married your brother.

I may still yet have to fight for Eloise i think.

Gideon and Elijah (and Myfanwy a long time ago)
Another one who suggested loads of names and ended up with one that dh suggested

mathanxiety · 14/05/2010 17:21

Niamh and Aoife.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 14/05/2010 18:17

Milo - DH said if we moved to Australia it would be like calling a kid here 'Ovaltine'
Roly - saud if he was a fat kid he would be called roly poly.

Meglet · 14/05/2010 18:20

Heston, I was having a bit of a foody moment. XP wasn't having it.

MrsDinky · 14/05/2010 18:25

George, in case anyone thought we had named him after George W Bush (this was 6 years ago).

MamaLazarou · 14/05/2010 19:43

Meglet, I have often thought what a quality name Heston is.

It's a shame it's associated so strongly with one person. It would be an excellent choice otherwise.

dizzydixies · 14/05/2010 20:02

I liked clementine nn cleo or tiny for DD3 and DH said no

I also had a notion for Evangeline known as Ever for a wee while but he talked me out of that one too

AbFabT · 14/05/2010 20:58

I am very lucky - I am pregnant with our first, and DH has approved of the three names (two girls and a boy) that I have suggested, contributed one boy's name himself, that I also like, and we've agreed that if this first is a boy, they'll get the name I chose, and that a second boy would get the name DH chose. All good.

However, I REALLY (really really really) want Danger for the middle name for the girl, but DH is having none of it.

spiderlight · 14/05/2010 23:45

Loads - he's a lecturer and practically every namer I suggested had a bad association with someone who was thick or handed in all his essays late or farted in tutorials or something. The ones I am still slightly aggrieved about are Eli, Lucas and Toby. (And then he came up with a grand total of two suggestions himself - Silvian and Athelstan )

spiderlight · 14/05/2010 23:46

namer=name, sorry

GreatGooglyMoogly · 16/05/2010 22:11

Cassandra (Cassie)
Stephanie

Had two ds's so luckily it didn't matter!

Shaz10 · 16/05/2010 22:15

Luke. He didn't want it at all. But when I was lying on the operating table and he was holding our son, he said we could have Luke. But I didn't want it then! Might save it for the next one.

pointydog · 16/05/2010 22:25

stella

Chunkamatic · 16/05/2010 22:27

We had real trouble deciding on boy's names. The notable ones that I liked were Seth (too weak) and Louis (pooey Louis).

To be fair I don't think he'll ever get over the fact that I wouldn't allow him to use Monty.

We pretty much agree on girls names. In fact we had some excellent names for girls. Alas, they will never be used... typical!!

mathanxiety - Aoife was one of the few names that DH and I agreed on for DD and Niamh was the second choice! Oisin got vetoed for DS1 though.

mathanxiety · 17/05/2010 05:34

I am really jealous -- I love those names, Sunnydelight. I should have put my foot down. He would have got used to it...
