NO

fruitshootsandheaves · 16/04/2010 19:31

as long as you don't have a surname / daughter called Holly

Good name for a Labrador.

BorisTheBold · 16/04/2010 19:32

Dog's name - sorry.

HerHonesty · 16/04/2010 19:32

OP posts:
BorisTheBold · 16/04/2010 19:34

Erm, both on a par with each other imo.

StepSideways · 16/04/2010 19:37

thats horrific

Scrudd · 16/04/2010 19:38

No, no and thrice no.

scottishmummy · 16/04/2010 19:44

ghastly and over familiar

LetThereBeRock · 16/04/2010 19:44

Absolutely not.

Littlefish · 16/04/2010 19:50

Very surprisingly, there are two children called Sonny in dd's class. I would put that in the same category, but obviously, I know nothing!

dobbyssocks · 16/04/2010 20:01

No makes me think of Buddy Luuuuuuuuuurve from Nutty Professor.

Surprise · 16/04/2010 20:05

Both vile.

HollyGoHeavily · 16/04/2010 20:12

Horrible

southeastastra · 16/04/2010 20:15

hardly vile but very rockabilly

Littlefish · 16/04/2010 20:31

Lance makes me think of Lance Percival with the speech affectation (twitty).

Sorry.

ozmetric · 16/04/2010 23:59

Only if a nickname.

Nemain · 17/04/2010 00:01

For a dog it is cheesy.

For a child, no!

nooka · 17/04/2010 05:31

OK as a nick name only. I knew a Lance, and didn't think of him having a bad name, but now it makes me think of lancing boils.

GladioliBuckets · 17/04/2010 17:09

Yuck. Chip, Clay, Brick, Hank, Junior - get the idea?

No to Buddy but I do like Lance and Sonny!

DramaInPyjamas · 17/04/2010 17:15

I wouldn't.

Always reminds me of the movie starring Chesney Hawkes that we had to watch at school EVERY TIME our English teacher was off ill (which was A LOT!)

mathanxiety · 17/04/2010 20:08

It's the boy version of 'sweetie' for a girl in the US. A bit like 'Junior' or 'Son'. So not a name, a generic term.

Technoprisoners · 17/04/2010 20:14

Lol Drama - that was a firm favourite in our dept. Go to school near Southampton by any chance??

stleger · 17/04/2010 20:27

My dd1, who is 16, has known a 'Buddy' since preschool. He is really called Bernard, apparently, she only found out when they were getting exam numbers. He would be a good person to have on your side in a fight, according to dd1.
