Dried or fresh? Are you confusing a 'pretty'word with a pretty name?

cory · 26/02/2010 20:35

Slambang · 26/02/2010 20:35

Terrible. Greengage is nice though: or medlar.

Cobblers · 26/02/2010 20:38

It's not to my taste, no.

Effjay · 26/02/2010 20:39

No, no, no - poor child!

ShowOfHands · 26/02/2010 20:40

Some words are pretty yes, but they aren't names. At least not of human children.

Vulva
Undulate
Frenulum
Candida
Albumen
Alfalfa
Quinoa

All quite lovely to say, but you don't want to shout them down the bacon aisle.

stripeywoollenhat · 26/02/2010 20:42

Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it.
To add to SOHs list - Chlamydia was a name actually used in my local hospital according to the midwives. Mother was warned about the meaning but liked the sound of it so went with it anyway!

StevieDunton · 26/02/2010 20:52

PardonMyClench · 26/02/2010 20:55

I know someone called Apricot. Have never asked if she likes her name or not though.

alypaly · 27/02/2010 01:08

shortened ,she's going to get called ape

CarmenSanDiego · 27/02/2010 01:12

I like it! Why not? It has nice associations, a nice sound and is a pretty, feminine colour.

The French spelling and pronunciation is lovely.

LaRagazzaInglese · 27/02/2010 02:12

what CarmenSanDiego said, I think it's cute, if you like those types of names, it's pretty and not too airy-fairy IYSWIM ooh i know someone called Fairy!
