if no can you please tell me why you dont like it.

not going to get huffy just like to hear why people dont like a name.

i.e if its because the annoying snotty nose lid down the road is called that it wont be a problem for me

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsPixie · 22/02/2010 17:30

No from me.

Just because I don't like the odd sound of it, the "cay" names grate on my nerves.

BunnyLebowski · 22/02/2010 17:32

No from me. The sound is just too similar to the Jayden/Brayden names I hate.

This Caleb could possibly persuade me otherwise though

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 22/02/2010 17:34

love it know at least 2 locally

eastendmummy · 22/02/2010 17:36

It's my ds' name so a yes from me! It's Hebrew meaning bold or loyal

diddl · 22/02/2010 17:58

Love it.

SqueezyB · 22/02/2010 18:05

I like it! Reminds me of the Kings of Leon, isn't one of them called Caleb? Quite a cool name.

meadowlarks · 22/02/2010 18:10

SqueezyB - Caleb's the name of the singer. He's amazing. I'm considering this as a MN.

doubleexpresso · 22/02/2010 18:45

Agree with Bunny and Mrs Pixie. Really, really don't like it at all. It's quite awkward to say I think.

said · 22/02/2010 18:48

Not sure how you pronounce it now - is it Cayleb or Ca-leb? Don't like it - partly for that reason and also because (although I know it's old) it does sound like a Jayden name

Morloth · 22/02/2010 18:51

For some reason I always associate the name Caleb with serial killers. I have no idea where this came from, except possibly Twin Peaks (remember that show?) wasn't the son of Satan named Caleb (or was it Calum?).

Kyrie · 22/02/2010 18:57

It's quite a cool, tough sounding name - not maybe a good boy's name. But i quite like names like that.

It does make me think of KOL but that's of course a good thing.

ja9 · 22/02/2010 19:03

I really can't decide... pondered that name each time i was preg - I esp like Old Testament boy's names, but just couldn't decide...

sorry, absolutlely no help to you!

BuzzingNoise · 22/02/2010 19:04

I like it, and I'm not a fan of modern sounding names usually, but I do like it.

Heathcliffscathy · 22/02/2010 19:04

very deep south. i like it.

but agree that it has bad man connotations...not sure why

BornToFolk · 22/02/2010 19:06

I don't like it. For some reason, it sounds like a made up name to me, which is odd I know, as it's very old.

I think it must be the "cay" sound making me think of Jayden/Braydon etc. I dislike Aidan for the same reason.

JoeyBettany · 22/02/2010 19:10

sounds like the name of a squirrel eater

2old4thislark · 22/02/2010 19:12

Hate it! I bracket that name with Ethan - just too American. I don't have anything personally against Americans tho. I also hate the 'surnames as first names' ie Parker, Miller and the Brandons, Jaydens (the name most likely to be screeched at a child in Asda - usually accompanied with the 'F' word!) etc

Oh dear - don't get me started on names - I've probably just upset a few people

pointysayhiphip · 22/02/2010 19:21

I'm like morloth. I associate it with evil sociopaths, not sure why.

Morloth · 22/02/2010 19:50

Buffy maybe? I can't think of any other reason why I would have that association, though there is an author named Caleb Carr who writes crime.

peachylovesherpoochy · 22/02/2010 19:55

I like it, had it as one of my names if we had a DS

boodleboot · 22/02/2010 19:56

i don't like it but i can't really put finger on why....i think it just sounds really disjointed....

boodleboot · 22/02/2010 19:58
