what do you reckon?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dizzydixies · 16/02/2010 19:02

not to my taste!

heQet · 16/02/2010 19:03

How do you pronounce that then?

Well, if you like it, use it. It's your baby. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

VictorHugo · 16/02/2010 19:03

Oh yes it is wonderful! Do it!

coldtits · 16/02/2010 19:03

you can call him what you like

VictorHugo · 16/02/2010 19:06

It's Roman...'I awake'

really nice.

differentID · 16/02/2010 19:06

As in Django Reinhardt, the jazz musician?

Or Django Fett in star wars?

However I would suggest googling Django and see what comes up.

It isn't a name I would personally choose.

LittleDonkin · 16/02/2010 19:15

I know of one little boy called Django and his parents are quite a hippy couple! He must be about 10 now.

Blanchet · 16/02/2010 19:22

Obviously you can, but I really wouldn't. He's the one who's going to have to wear it for a lifetime. I feel it's one of those names that says a lot about the parents, but which is not likely to be easy to live with; hard to carry off. What if he's just totally not a Django?

MattBellamysMuse · 16/02/2010 19:25

I really wouldn't if I were you. It will cause him all kinds of difficulty. No-one will be able to spell it or pronounce it (well obviously some will but the majority won't).

skybluewinking · 16/02/2010 19:25

I knew a Django, I rather like it, but he changed his own name to Ben!

Disenchanted3 · 16/02/2010 19:26

I like it

Disenchanted3 · 16/02/2010 19:26

D-J for short?

TaurielTest · 16/02/2010 19:34

VictorHugo - surely not Roman? There are no dj- clusters in Latin. Romany possibly?
Anyway, OP - course you can, I think it's a nice sounding name, but if it were me, I'd avoid it purely because it's so associated with one particular famous person. A bit like when you meet jazz fans with daughters called Ella and Billie - lovely names, but somehow - IMO - not so special to those children because the tribute is so clear.

annabelcaramel · 16/02/2010 19:36

Yes, I think it's lovely. It sounds a really happy positive name I think.

VictorHugo · 16/02/2010 19:37

Yes sorry Romany...

crankytwanky · 16/02/2010 20:08

Love it!

It's what I would have been called if I were a boy.

On my theoretical list. (Think I'm having a gal.)

pippylongstockings · 16/02/2010 20:26

I really like it - but then I have also recently read 'The runaway dinner' by Allan Ahlberg and the little boy in that is called Banjo - I thought that was a fab name too!

MattBellamysMuse · 16/02/2010 20:27

My DSs live The Runaway Dinner. And The Pencil (also featuring Banjo and friends).

MattBellamysMuse · 16/02/2010 20:28

Love, not live.

DebiNewberry · 16/02/2010 20:34

yes it's lovely, and was my boy name.

I know a very cool teen Django, he doesn't get teased.

sungirltan · 16/02/2010 20:34

Virtually none in Glasgow

But actually, I really like it.
