My DH & I are thinking of Eliabella Rose Taylor but have had a bad reaction from the only other person I've told so have started to wonder about it. I know it's rather unusual...

Eliza Bella?

GetOrfMoiLand · 18/12/2009 16:01

pmsl fartin in the bath.

No, it sounds like a letter has fallen out of the middle or something.

I had some pregnancy shockers btw. Berengaria, anyone?

ponyness · 18/12/2009 16:03

Thanks so much for sorting out this hormone addled head and not saddling a child with a name that everyone does a double-take at!

Hollyroger, I LOVE the fact that you considered Oak for awhile, has made me feel much better .

The problem is that all the names I loved, Elizabeth, Isabella, Annabelle have all be given to kids of close friends of mine so have had to start from scratch - serves me right for being the last one to get pregnant . So back to the drawing board and hopefully with hormones more in control!!!!

not keen on it at all....makes me think Jelly Belly!

OhBuggerandArse · 18/12/2009 16:05

Etymologically, it really can't be a Celtic name - the only Arthurian sources it appears in are the French and Italian versions of the prose Roman de Tristan, and it's clearly Romance in derivation. And pretty makey-uppy sounding at that.

KeithTalent · 18/12/2009 16:13

ffs

DON'T CALL HER THIS

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 18/12/2009 16:17

Ohbugger...absolute epitome of MN in one short post.
Brilliant.

TisTheSeasonToBeHully · 18/12/2009 16:21

I LOVE it. I have a niece called Faliaballiarina. So unusual.

MaggieAnFiaRua · 18/12/2009 16:26

labiafalliarina would be nicer imo

Hells Bells!

doubleexpresso · 18/12/2009 17:40

Enjoying this one! How about Lisbet ? Or (completely unrelated) Nina ?

Heated · 18/12/2009 17:48

Ponyness has acknowledged hormonally charged brain at work.

Own pg brain is entirely responsible for dd's name, I can only hope that when she's older she'll forgive me!

Ponyness, how about
Eliza
Elspeth
Elizabeth
Louisa
Anna
Clemency
Susannah
....

KERALA1 · 18/12/2009 19:12

Mid pregnancy I was hellbent on Lorelei. And our surname begins with L. Hormones calm down towards the end I think.

Dont do it I think its quite bad (Ellabella?!) and I usually like non top 10 names

grenadine · 18/12/2009 20:11

OP - how about Arabella or Anna?

grenadine · 18/12/2009 20:12

or Ellie

CristinaTheAstonishing · 18/12/2009 20:16

"Berengaria, anyone?"

PfftTheMagicDragon · 18/12/2009 20:57

Kerala - I had a Lorelai thing at one point as well.

PollyTechnique · 18/12/2009 22:04

Don't see the problem in giving a name that is the same as one of your friends' dds.

bellissima · 19/12/2009 13:22

Eliza? Elise? Or indeed Elizabeth or Eleanor as already suggested.

'Eleanor Rose' would certainly show your Democrat credentials!

Brachy · 19/12/2009 21:49

what about Eliana instead?

mathanxiety · 19/12/2009 21:52

Sounds silly, imo.

MrsMattie · 21/12/2009 11:38

Eliza
Elizabeth
Eliana
Belle
Bella

All lovely.

'Ella-Bella' - NO

ponyness · 22/12/2009 15:25

Thanks everyone for such great suggestion - Bellissima, I really like Eleanor Rose!! And it's now currently our front runner - thanks so much
