I like Rupert best from the list. Have never heard of Nye and don't like it at all, sorry.

Thissideofchannel · 16/12/2009 17:49

Ralph and Rupert are nice.

Don't like Casper (sounds a little 'silly' to me) and Dexter at all, I'm afraid.

JACKIEwrappingPAPER · 16/12/2009 17:49

i like Ralph or Rupert, although you are always going to get Rupert the bear comments!

MamaLazarou · 16/12/2009 17:57

Dexter's my favourite out of those. It's getting really popular now. How about Drexel?

Nye just sounds like a Northern Irish person saying 'now'. No offence to any lovely N.I. people reading this!

bellissima · 16/12/2009 18:21

Nye is also a surname. I know a Mr and Mrs Nye. So you would have to put Aneurin.

I'm not terribly keen on any of the others. Unless you could have a Christmas trio of Casper, Melchior and Balthazar (and believe it or not I know a little Balthazar!).

PurpleEglu · 16/12/2009 18:30

Love Casper or Dexter

donnie · 16/12/2009 18:39

all awful - pretentious and / or chavvy. Whichever way, the kid loses.

dizzygirl25 · 16/12/2009 18:41

Nye sounds lovely. Rupert is always going to get called rupert the bear. Dexter is becoming really popular thanks to the program, i think charlotte church called her little boy it though, dont know if that will put you off! Im with pineapplechunks on ralph though. I read all judy blume books as a teenager and someone does call there penis ralph. It makes me laugh whenever i hear it! Lol. laugh wido

dizzygirl25 · 16/12/2009 18:46

Sorry i ve just wrote that on my mobile and realised my spelling is terrible! Not to sure what the word is at the end either. My apologies!

reup · 16/12/2009 18:54

I love Nye and really dislike all the other a not too upper class twit for my liking. Dexter is the name of a tv show about a serial killer at the moment.

RnB · 16/12/2009 18:56

Caspar and Ralph are lovely

reup · 16/12/2009 18:57

donnie why is Nye chavvy? or is having a welsh name pretentious? Neither of your objections really make sense for that name.

Ondine · 16/12/2009 19:01

I agree reup, Nye is about the most unpretentious name ever and I'd be very surprised if it was considered chavvy!

DownwardDog · 16/12/2009 19:02

Aneurin sounds a bit like Aneurysm. Sorry.

DownwardDog · 16/12/2009 19:04

Playground taunts a-plenty with Nye,too - 'The end is nye'. Etc.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 16/12/2009 19:19

DiwnwardDog - you have a high opinion of the level of playground knowledge ........

reup · 16/12/2009 19:25

not if you are pronouncing it correctly downward dog. For those who know anything about postwar British politics the pronounciation is easy.

weaselbudge · 16/12/2009 20:23

Rupert by miles.
I have to agree with pineapple about the judy blume book

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/12/2009 20:32

Rupert without a shadow of a doubt.

bogie · 16/12/2009 20:36

Dexter I wanted it for dc3 but she is going to ba a girl so I can't have it now

Undercovasanta · 16/12/2009 20:45

Don't mind Nye, but only cos I love Welsh names.
Not keen on any of the others though sorry.

Heated · 16/12/2009 20:50

Favourite is Nye, especially if short for Aneurin.

'Forever' was seminal text in my early teenage ears, don't name him Ralph.

liliputlady · 16/12/2009 20:51

I like Ralph

I always think of Ralph Malph from Happy Days.

"I still got it!"
