I really thought I was having another boy, but I have just found out its another girl we had a shortlist
Lydia
Mia
Hazel
Imogen
Rose/Rosie

Now Dp thinks he doesn't really want any of them and he quite likes Sophie or Abigail we already have a Justin and a Phoebe.

love both Sophie and Abigail

do you like the shortened version, Abi? If not, maybe think again with Abigail as often it gets shortened

4andnotout · 10/11/2009 11:18

I love Sophie but I'm very biased as I am one

MrsBadger · 10/11/2009 11:20

from that list I like Sophie, Rose and Lydia

ABigail really doesn;t do it for me

displayuntilbestbefore · 10/11/2009 11:22

is your dh really not keen on your list of names? I think Imogen is lovely.

Tinkerisdead · 10/11/2009 11:32

I have a Sophie, I wanted Lydia and DH was adament that she was a Sophie..when the C Section haze finally cleared I had to agree with him. So no help from me but I love all your names but obviously Sophie and Lydia the most. I wanted to use Lydia and call her lydie.

Pinner35 · 10/11/2009 11:38

I'm pg and if this one is another girl, she will be called Sophie. I love it!

pollywobbledoodle · 10/11/2009 11:39

love lydia

lots of sophies and abigails among dd's (5yo) friends....all the abigails are abis..scabby abi is the possible horrible nickname....

MaggieMonday · 10/11/2009 12:21

I love Lydia and Hazel, and although I do really like Sophie, please pick either Susie or Sylvie. They are both kind of similar and yet much, much rarer.

I have a Sophie too, (she was Jessica for about 3 hours!)

BonjourIvresse · 10/11/2009 12:50

I prefer Sophia, a bit more unusual.

nomorebooze · 10/11/2009 14:37

i like sophie, people say its popular but i dont know any where i am!!!

mathanxiety · 10/11/2009 14:58

I love Hazel -- twist your DH's arm. Second choice would be Abigail. I prefer Sophia to Sophie.

SuperSoph73 · 10/11/2009 15:06

Obviously I think the name is fabulous However, I do like Abigail but would end up shortening it to Abi.

scarlettblue · 10/11/2009 16:29

Love Rose and Lydia. Imogen is nice but would get shortened to Immy.

Sophie is lovely but a little safe.

Ijustknow · 20/11/2009 18:16

My DD is a Sofie- named after a childhood friend. Always loved the thought and sound of it.

pinefarmpooperscooper · 20/11/2009 20:26

I called my daughter Sophia throughout the whole pregnancy, I LOVE THAT NAME!.. but my husband was undecided... when she came out i really wanted to name her straight away and he liked Grace.. so she is now a Grace Eloise. Sophie is popular, but thats because its such a nice name! My midwife told me that all Spohies are naughty! (but not sure thats a bad thing!)

forehead · 22/11/2009 18:41

I like the name Abigail, i wanted to call my dd Abigail, but my dh's best friend beat us to it and called his dd Abigail.

MillyMollyMoo · 25/11/2009 22:13

Ovber heard at a Christening between two old ladies
"All the lovely flowers in the world and they've named her after a nut"
Poor Hazel

qwerty123 · 25/11/2009 22:19

Justin, Phoebe and Rose sounds good to me.

pointydogg · 25/11/2009 22:22

sophie is very nice

Hulababy · 25/11/2009 22:30

The name Sophie is nice, pretty. It is quite popular amongst primary school children IME, if that bothers you.

I prefer Sophie to the other names in your lists, although like Rose as a middle name. Not as keen on Abigail either.

VengefulKitty · 25/11/2009 22:34

I like Sophie. It's what I would name a girl if I have one.

PutDown · 26/11/2009 12:54

Sophie was quite unusual 19 yrs ago when I named DD1,then became very popular.
Still like it though..

KERALA1 · 26/11/2009 20:20

Very popular I much prefer Imogen. Personally think it sounds too much like soppy - I know that is unfair and irrational but it does.
