A mighty fine name, we're all lovely.

cookielove · 27/08/2009 18:44

i'm a sarah and i can clearly vote a yes for it, in my secondary school i went to i was in a class full of sarahs and also across the year, however through college no sarah's and in have never worked with a sarah, so not always that popular.

But i love my name, and i love that my dad really wanted a sarah and he got one, and i am a princess to the bone

cookielove · 27/08/2009 18:46

and mrswoolf - i'm a sarah elizabeth, so i'm timeless and elegant, hmmm i quite like that

WorzselMummage · 27/08/2009 18:51

i'm sarah elizabeth too.. i bet there's millions of us !

mmrsceptic · 27/08/2009 18:57

nice name, but Sarah Louise -- there are many of them
or sarah and louise sisters

TheCrackFox · 27/08/2009 19:02

I too am a Sarah Elizabeth. My mum is not know for her originality.

sanae · 27/08/2009 19:08

I have a DD, 10Y, Sarah Katherine - we don't know any other children called Sarah (and she has been to 3 different schools). She loves the fact it means Princess. I like the fact that it is now uncommon, but somehow feels timeless and classless.

giddykipper · 27/08/2009 19:18

Yep, Sarah Elizabeth too!

piscesmoon · 27/08/2009 19:24

I love it and would have used it if I had a DD.It is timeless. Sarah Elizabeth, Sarah Louise and Sarah Katherine are all lovely.

TheCrackFox · 27/08/2009 19:39

Let's not forget the all time classic - Sarah Jane.

GoldenSnitch · 28/08/2009 15:30

My sister teaches 11-16 year olds and can only think of 2 Sarah's in the entire school...

sweetkitty · 28/08/2009 22:31

I am a Sarah well I'm hyphenated with anotehr classics 70s name, not Jane or Louise btw

I know 3 little Sarahs under 3, I am named after my Gran who was Sarah nn Sadie, DD1's middle name is Sadie, I like it and it's becoming popular again

ohnelly · 30/08/2009 07:14

Nice but there are sssssssooooooooooo many of them. How about Sara instead?

BeckyBook · 30/08/2009 14:54

I think Sarah Brown is a classic Sarah - smart, sensible, attractive, very English and quite Head Girl-ish. I would be happy to have a name which evoked this kind of woman.

academicallyTormented · 30/08/2009 16:24

Oh Dear...I'm a January 1990 born Sarah Isabel...Equally bland when compared to people 10 years older or younger! Brilliant
I quite like being a Sarah, its quite anonymous, my three younger sisters all have very 'times reader-upper middle class-classical mythology/shakespearean etc so inevitably the product of public school parents' names, (Camilla, Titania and Allegra) so people always have a (not entirely accurate) preconception about them before they meet them, as a Sarah, I can be anyone, any race, religion, class or age.

Having said that I was placed on a table of Sarahs in my GCSE maths class...The teacher would just field a question to 'sarah' whilst avoiding eye contact with any of us...hmmm

academicallyTormented · 30/08/2009 16:26

PS there were 6 Sara(h)s, 4 Rach(a)els, 3 Lauras and 4 Hannahs in a year group of 60 girls... there were also 11 Matthews out of 60 boys though....

lovely

saramoon · 05/09/2009 21:44

I'm a Sara - Sara Louise pronounced Sarah - born early 70's. In my mind it has always been a really commmon name and i remember feeling jealous at 7 years old and my sister was born and was named Joanna. It is a Muslim name too as well as being a Hebrew name.

Pyrocanthus · 05/09/2009 21:53

I've contributed to the revival!

wotzyRegisteredTM · 05/09/2009 21:58

I like it. It is an honest and happy name.
