In my baby name book is Cnut. I'm sure it must be a proper old fashioned name, but seriously, who would use it??

I'm wondering about Boleslaw too. Someone thought of Coleslaw, but decided it was classier with a B? Some kind of truncated version of Boyle's Law?

It's definitely a boy but Dijonaise might have been a contender for a girl. Apparently, its a combination of Dijon and Mayonnaise (like that makes it ok )

Funny how when I was at school, books were clear that his name was Canute. Are historians these days just more honest/less uptight? Or do they have filthy minds?

i had that book when we were expecting dd. half the names weren't names by any stretch of the imagination. did give me a laugh though. i lent it to a friend when she was pg and now i'm expecting dc2 i have a much more boring and short baby names book to work from!
