Bear in mind I am 12 days overdue and about to leave for my induction in the next couple of hours. I WILL defend fiercely.

I may also be a bit in labour so criticise at your peril. You hear that soupy?!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
nappyaddict · 23/07/2009 14:38

How about Prunella? It comes from the latin word for plum.

Stigaloid · 23/07/2009 14:55

I like it.

Although speaking about Velvet - my friend has named her daughter after a euphemism for fanny. I really don't think she knows that it is a euphemism but everytime i get an update all i can see is

fandago has done this today....

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 23/07/2009 14:59

I much prefer BOLLOCK or maybe ORCHIDO (medical terminology for BOLLOCK just prettier!)

God wish DH were here he would come up with lots of jokes about having a plum in ones mouth (obviously for when baby plum is a lot older!)

BakewellTarts · 23/07/2009 15:07

I like US crime novels and so Plum makes me think Stephanie, New Jersey and general disaster...so no not for me.

thumbwitch · 24/07/2009 01:36

TAFKA, are you aware of Hobb's relationship history? It's a bit complicated...
and she might not immediately "get" your funny post...

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 24/07/2009 08:54

Oops, sorry, not aware of relationship history. Have I put my foot in it again?

You're not really carrying PC Plum's lovechild are you?

Hope the birth is progressing well, will look for your announcement soon!

HerHonesty · 24/07/2009 11:39

pudding.

good luck

GrendelsMum · 24/07/2009 13:39

I love it. But at the same time I know it's really awful. But I still love it.

What do I know?

TheChilliMooseisPerplexed · 24/07/2009 13:52

Please don't do it Hobbgoblin.

dodecahedronandonandon · 26/07/2009 11:51

do it..... it's pretty and for a name that'll stand out it's not plain awful -so many 'different' names are just too horrendous. forget the balls connection and ignore those preconceptions.... it's a lovely name

HairyMuff · 26/07/2009 11:56

Its awful

Reminds me of "get yer gums round me plums".

Spidermama · 26/07/2009 12:10

Plum is very nice. It is a nickname though so feels a bit informal for the birth certificate.

Good luck with it all.

Jane78 · 27/07/2009 10:48

I knew a 'Victoria Plum' who was called by her middle name. She was very posh!

lacielee81 · 04/03/2024 04:19

Plum is short for sugar plum people...

HemlockSoup · 04/03/2024 11:41

Toomuchgoingon79 · 05/03/2024 02:29
