If you like granny names for girls, what would you pick for a boy..?

Think we are down to a shortlist of two boys names (as mentioned in previous thread). These are Felix and Oscar. I love the name Felix but am worried it is too out there and also the cat connection is in the back of my mind...dont want ds's name to attract negative attention. Also grandparents hate it! Should I go for it anyway seeing as how dh and I love it? Is the cat connection that bad? Oscar I also love but feel it is the safer choice.

Do you have any other boy name suggestions we maybe haven't thought of? (dd has a granny type name so that gives indication of taste). Gentle honesty please!!

(oops, sorry I didn't notice it was a very old thread... Probably the boy already has a name and is two years old by now)

I wouldn't class Oscar or Felix as grandad names. They are more popular now than they have ever been so they are very 'now'.

Alfie, Archie, Albie, Freddie, Stanley etc are also very now in that they are very very fashionable. I think they'll date.

I would choose a more timeless old man name like Edward, Hugh, George, Louis, William, Francis, John etc..
