people will ask what it is short for...I would.

However all my names are very traditional. if you like it then go for it.

MummyDoIt · 01/04/2009 18:06

It will always be spelt 'Ren' as people will assume it's short for Renata or something like that.

I like it.

catinthehat1 · 01/04/2009 18:15

Mick Jagger's gf is L'Wren which I like a lot, and hate at the same time. Works well when you say it (doesn't have the ren/Wren problem)

Tortington · 01/04/2009 18:16

i just today finished a book with a 'wren' as one of three main protagonists.

she called herself 'rennie' in the book.

so beware - you kid could potentially be a heartburn remedy

PrimulaVeris · 01/04/2009 18:20

Later in life men of a certain type will refer to her as a "Bird"

Until that day it's tweet

MrsHappy · 01/04/2009 18:22

TBH it wouldn't be my choice because birds creep me out ( ridiculous but true...)

If I wanted the sound I would probably go for something like Renata or Serena and then end up calling her "Ren".

SoupDreggon · 01/04/2009 18:23

DD's nickname is Wren (amongst others!) but it's not her name.

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 01/04/2009 18:23

I like it. No crazier than Robin. Plus The Wrens!

Renata or Renee with nn Wren a good idea if you're not quite sure about putting it on the bc

As in a female Royal Navy sailor?

Can't say I'm keen on it.

its lovely.

seeker · 01/04/2009 20:51

it would be hard to a be a 5ft10 substantially built Wren, though, wouldn't it?

SoupDreggon · 01/04/2009 21:21

I think your OP is actually quite true... It's a lovely name for a little girl. Which is why it's only DDs nickname
