I can also picture a tall, beautiful willowy adult Wren. Maybe not so good for a shot-putter physique though. The more I think about the name, the more I love it though.

ItsMargotBeauregarde · 01/04/2009 22:16

I wouldn't think anything of a tall Wren. A fat Wren might make me think, oh, poor thing with that name to accentuate the extra pounds in an ironic way.

Leannabanana · 02/04/2009 12:29

oh my goodness, a fat Wren - bigbird - i can hear it in the playground now....my other daughter and my stepdaughter are both very lean tho so i'd be suprised if this one turned out to be a chubs. never know tho....may be i should use it as a middle name in stead of the standard mae, rose or grace.....that way i can call her Wren when she is a diddy....

I have a friend with twin girls called Robin and Wren - lovely

MadreInglese · 02/04/2009 12:39

Wasn't there a Ren in neighbours yonks ago? Short for Serendipity I think

If you like it go for it.

Nancy66 · 02/04/2009 12:56

Awful. She'll be changing that when she's 18

MrsMattie · 02/04/2009 12:57

Dreadful. And although written down it is Wren, to my ear it sounds like Ren short for...Rene? Renata? God knows. Horrid.

Are you for real?@Lilliput. Sorry, I can't help it. I must snigger.

I love it! Wren is just lovely! [might pinch it for my own use...!]

catinthehat1 · 02/04/2009 19:34

she's ginormous and she's a babe. This is a Tall (L)'Wren FYI

MadameCastafiore · 02/04/2009 19:39

Sparra

Said with south London accent is much nicer or maybe Jackdaw for a boy?

Leannabanana · 07/04/2009 14:47

i think i can see this name being more of a second name....to replace rose or grace etc....i do love it tho but DH has just decided its never going to happen....

Thrush ?

MarmadukeScarlet · 07/04/2009 15:03

I think middle name too, but you could call her by that yourselves.

I was friends with 2 girls named Rosie and Willow when I was growing up, I can remeber my mother (somewhat unkindly) commenting on her hopes for their future physiques. (fwiw they are skinny glam rock chicks)

flooziesusie · 07/04/2009 15:32

Love it...

Leannabanana · 07/04/2009 15:39

thrush....thats hilarious....i think i will do as you suggest marmaduke and have it as a private non actual name related nickname.....i tested this name on my DM in real life expecting to get lambasted but surprise surprise she absolutely loved it.....my sister HATED it....it must be one of those marmite names....x
