Jamie or Michael go well with Sam.

Iain is quite a traditional name so something like Jacob maybe. That goes with both.

janeite · 15/03/2009 15:56

Yes Theo would go well.

Benedict
Barnaby
Laurence
Vincent
Isaac

I think Iain, Sam and Oliver sound lovely together.

Thanks - we are maybe (commitment phobes!) thinking of Ben or Nathan?

MrsSeanBean · 16/03/2009 13:23

Jonathan
James
Angus
Louis

Can't top nappy's list sorry! Ben is especially nice. Hope you reach a decision.

nappyaddict · 16/03/2009 13:26

Love Nathan. Not that popular surprisingly (unlike Ben)

secondbump · 16/03/2009 14:03

Nathan is lovely!

Ben is a little boring/common but ok.

GossipMonger · 16/03/2009 14:48

Iain Sam and Nathan sound nice together.

Ben is lovely but soooooo popular.

Simon?
Benedict?
Felix?

Fimbo · 16/03/2009 14:49

Adam or Louis

FilledWithRage · 16/03/2009 14:58

(Why) is it a bad thing if a name is popular?

EyeballsintheSky · 16/03/2009 15:00

Nathan is lovely. I really like Dominic but DH doesn't

ZurichMum · 16/03/2009 15:02

I have a daughter Lilian Molly Puskas and am thinking of Helena or Miriam for number two. The name has to work in German, French, English and ...... Hungarian ...

Any comments

nappyaddict · 16/03/2009 16:13

FWR - At school I always hated being so and so E cos I wasn't the only one in my year.

Smilewearingthin · 16/03/2009 19:01

No suggestions about names but just to say that my third child (boy) didn't have a name at birth, nor the next day, nor the next day, nor the next day ... and was under so much pressure by the seventh day that DH and I 'plumped' for a name that neither of us really liked. The mist cleared at around four weeks and we were able to come up with a name what we (OK, that I) really liked. So we changed his name officially and it was really easy. Anyway, my advice is to do nothing for a while you have time and wait for the post-birth miasma to clear a little!

[For what it's worth, we considered Ben too, but discounted it in the end cos too popular -- my reason being as described by nappyaddict. Not sure about Nathan. But then I worked with a real plonker by that name.]

GossipMonger · 16/03/2009 19:04

It isnt that it is a bad thing to have a very popular name. I would consider ds2 to have a popular name but in Reception at school there are 6 Bens!!

It would annoy me to be the Mum of

Ben C or Ben D or Benjamin P...........
