Can't say I would choose it myself... Have a feeling its used as a nn for Charles - would that appeal?

no not american, but like chuck berry, i have thought of the chucky thing. I dont like charles as a name though so would have to be actually named chuck. Interesting that no-one else likes it so far!

theres a Chuc in my daughter's class at secondary school, and i remember when she was 11 and got her class photo she had us guessing people's names from their initials - we got to Chuc and the clue she gave us was 'It's like a rubbish throw'

no from me

sarah76 · 11/03/2009 23:25

There's quite a nasty character on Gossip Girl called Chuck, but more importantly upChucking is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear it.

BTW, I'm American and honestly NEVER knew anyone called Chuck! Very few called Charles, and they used Charlie as a nickname.

Tidey · 11/03/2009 23:28

First thought was 'Upchuck', then thought of the character from Pushing Daisies, but that's short for Charlotte.

LaDiDaDi · 11/03/2009 23:29

Horrid.

ninedragons · 11/03/2009 23:29

Hard to take seriously.

A friend of mine had to do a stint in one of the American offices of her company, where she worked with a man called Chuck Spears.

fin42 · 11/03/2009 23:43

I would think Chuck was a nn for Charlie/Charles, why not use the as his real name and then he can choose?

hf128219 · 11/03/2009 23:49

Absolutely love it. If only dd had been a ds I would have used it

nooka · 12/03/2009 04:53

Awful. In fact yuk. As you said you could take it! I don't like it as a nickname (ey up chuck) but as a given name, just really bad.

barbie1 · 12/03/2009 05:49

no sorry.....first thought were ey up chuck too!

MmeLindt · 12/03/2009 06:40

Puke is the first thing that comes to mind.

Sorry.

Pan · 12/03/2009 06:42

You're kidding.

Wolfblass · 12/03/2009 10:01
