Is the name Noah very common where you live?

It is no 50 on the 100 most popular names but whenever i mention the name people seem to always say 'Noah is becoming very common nowadays.'

georgiemum · 04/03/2009 11:49

EachPeachPearMum · 04/03/2009 11:50

we know 3, and don't have a particularly wide social circle tbh. They are all 3-3.5 yo

sockmonkey · 04/03/2009 11:59

Lots of Samuels and Camerons round here, and quite a few Ethans

mickeylou · 04/03/2009 14:15

LuLuBai · 04/03/2009 15:05

I know one down my end of Middle Class London Mummysville...

Issy123 · 04/03/2009 15:13

I don't know any.

DottyDot · 04/03/2009 15:15

It's ds1's middle name (he's 7) and I kind of wish we'd had the courage to make it his first name as he would really suit it. I love it - we don't know anyone else in his school called Noah.

strictmumof3 · 04/03/2009 15:39

I know 3,
1 is 2 years old and the other 2 are about 7 months.

SouthernMeerkat · 04/03/2009 20:59

I know two. But if you like it go for it!

When we chose for DS1 (Theodore) it wasn't even in the top 100 but it's now within the top 50 I think, and I know several!! But people still comment on it being a lovely name.

As everyone else has said, I know hundreds of Alfies, Oscars, Jacks and Oliver/Ollies. We're in MCM of Tunbridge Wells if that makes any difference!

LyraSilvertongue · 04/03/2009 21:02

I don't know any (rural Scotland). I love it too. Know a Jonah though and that's a great name

ScummyMummy · 04/03/2009 21:24

I knew one at uni. Don't know any little Noahs. I always thought the bible Noah was a bit of a prat, though. Bit of a yes-man, I think, and didn't have any sympathy for all the people he left behind to drown in the flood. I bet he would have left all his money to the RSPCA rather than a charity that benefited humans. Not very nice to his grandson Canaan either, just because Canaan's dad Ham saw him drunk and naked in his tent. How this was Canaan's fault I have no idea.

Ham is quite a cool sounding name, actually....

SalLikesCoffee · 04/03/2009 21:26

I know one - just over a year old, at ds's nursery. I think it's a pretty name.

RustyBear · 04/03/2009 21:28

I know four, five including the one on MN; but there aren't any at the junior school I work at - they are all 4 or under.
