Names with an X in!

A bit obscure I know, but I am 33w pg with our first baby . We both seem to like names with a hard X sound e.g. Max, Felix, Roxanne.

I was wondering if any kind MNetters could think of any more, as it is not the sort of thing we can easily look up on baby name lists!

Nothing too 'outlandish'! - we are quite ordinary with a very ordinary surname!

Thanks in advance!

Trixie
Dixie
Alexa

Lexi
Flix (short for Felicity usually)

Personally I would stick with Felix from your boys list - truly fab name (also love Xavier) but if looking for other boys names you could always pillage the Brangelina back catalogue.

Felix is my fave boys name and I love Alexa or Alexis for a girl.

I knew a woman with a daughter named Pixie. The mum was very hurt when Pixie eloped with her chap instead of doing the big wedding.

Payback, I reckon.

ChocolateEclair · 07/02/2009 11:36

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post suggestions. Lots of food for thought here.

Can you pronounce Xanthe either way then? ex-anth-ee or zanth-ee?

OP posts:
LuLuBai · 07/02/2009 11:37

I've only ever heard it pronounced Zanth-ee

mololoko · 07/02/2009 11:54

we have a lovely Beatrix

DH was most insistent that it wasn't to be Beatrice.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 07/02/2009 11:54

Is Xanthe a boys name?

How do people pronounce Xavier?

Geepers · 07/02/2009 11:59

Xiola

LuLuBai · 07/02/2009 12:12

Xanthe is a girl's name. (or at least I have never met a male one!)

Xavier varies a lot depending what language you are speaking. In English it is usually ex-AVI-our but in French it is more like ZAV-ee-eh while in Spanish it would be more like HAV-ee-err (but generally spelt Javier in Spain anyway).

Felix is the best name ever (not that I'm biased or anything )

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 07/02/2009 12:49

I like Felix or Rex. I'm a bit bored of Max, although it's still a great name.

Xenia and Xyla and Xanthe

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 07/02/2009 12:53

thought of one I really like even though it wouldn't be my usual style,

Lennox

snap it up before brangelina get there.
