Names with an X in!

A bit obscure I know, but I am 33w pg with our first baby . We both seem to like names with a hard X sound e.g. Max, Felix, Roxanne.

I was wondering if any kind MNetters could think of any more, as it is not the sort of thing we can easily look up on baby name lists!

Nothing too 'outlandish'! - we are quite ordinary with a very ordinary surname!

Thanks in advance!

Geox? Isn't that a shoe?

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 07/02/2009 13:08

yes, a shoe for sweaty feet. with special breathable soles! i wouldn't do Geox!

ChocolateEclair · 07/02/2009 13:11

Err no, think I'll give the shoe one a miss thanks!

Liffey - I googled Brangelina's kids and see what you mean!

Quite liking Dexter actually - sounds like a mischevious little boy!

How would Xiola be pronounced?

BikeRunSki · 07/02/2009 14:15

Bex nn for Rebecca

Geepers · 07/02/2009 15:50

MegSophandEmma · 07/02/2009 15:56

I have a friend with the name xanthe and hers is pronounced in the way I suggested.

Ceebee74 · 07/02/2009 17:21

Hi Chocolate Eclair

I can't think of any that haven't been mentioned on here but the ones I love the most are:

Boys - Dexter (LOVE Dexter - but people will think you are copying Charlotte Church ) and Felix

Girls - my fave is definitely Lexi

Just my opinion of course - can't wait to find out what you call him/her in a few weeks time

campion · 07/02/2009 18:38

Xenophon. Works best if you're Greek - probably.

mamakoukla · 07/02/2009 18:45

Xandru (pronounced Shan-drew). Maltese for Alexander

Takver · 07/02/2009 19:43

I like Dax for a boys name. I hate to say this but Dexter always makes me think of the breed of cow - but probably only because I have never met a human one (and they are very cool cows )

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 07/02/2009 20:55

we have a Lexie
like Beatrix too

Maddox

Ceebee74 · 07/02/2009 20:57

Ooh forgot to say I love Beatrix - kinda cool I think!

pixiemoon · 08/02/2009 12:07

Baxter?

audley · 08/02/2009 12:27

Xerxes, that's 2 x's! I say it zerk-sees but may be wrong

Wolfblass · 08/02/2009 13:53

Xanthe and Xanthia - two of my fave names...

ChocolateEclair · 08/02/2009 16:45

Just to say thanks again to everyone who took the trouble to post - very kind.

I think we need to have a long think about some of the suggestions over the next few weeks!

CountessDracula · 09/02/2009 15:02

Ajax (or vim )

Bubbaluv · 09/02/2009 15:05

MegSoph,
Is that how she really pronounces it or is it a nick-name or maybe how her brothers used to say it to tease her?

On the Dexter subject, it always reminds me of Poindexter and nerds I'm afraid.

atowncalledalice · 09/02/2009 15:09

Xanthe can be pronounced (and would have been in ancient Greek) Ksanthe.

randomname · 09/02/2009 15:39

jax,jex,dax,rex,lex(like luther!)
