Depends on the surname - long or short?

BonsGib · 29/01/2009 13:52

He wont be going to a 'Nursery' we dont want to risk him being close to a working class child

Nanny will be looking after him

Why only one middle name? Surely that's a bit, erm common.

I recommend Tarquin St John Valery Hillery.

Another HILARIOUS comedy posting...oh my aching sideszzzzz

Farquar Tarquin is amazing, DS will definitely fit in at Eton.
For consideration my DS is named Tarquar Farquin Smythe-Fossington Jr after his father, has a lovely ring to it and after the Gossington-Avery's named their DS Farquar we couldn't possibly have used it.

Is Tarquin really such an awful name?? I'm not English (French) and don't live in the UK, so to me it doesn't sound too bad.... Also, it reminds me of author Tarquin Hall.

I think St John goes frightfully well. Of course, it depends on how many syllables your double barrelled surname has, and whether the family crest could potentially adjust?

tiredmaman · 31/01/2009 21:26

Quentin is my ds's name...

shoobidoo · 31/01/2009 21:30

Quentin is a lovely name. Its not poncey at all (e.g. Quentin Tarantino) and appears to be becoming quite popular actually. I know 2 Quentin's under 3 years.

SoupDragon · 31/01/2009 21:31

You've missed what I meant... Tarquin Quentin...?

SoupDragon · 31/01/2009 21:32

Perhaps Quintus would be better...

othersideofchannel · 31/01/2009 21:41

Quentin is indeed quite popular in France (was in top 10 names until recently), but agree that Quintus is a little ott .
