Flower names for boys

We are trying for number 2, we already have a daughter Poppy. We are looking for a boys name that is on the same theme.

We were trying to think of any flower, plant or herb but are stuck. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Linden is definitely my favorite!
Rowan is nice too.

QueenLiffey · 19/01/2009 16:24

I wouldn't laugh at Basil, but knowing that in America they'd say Bayzil would put me off.

RumMum · 19/01/2009 16:28

I love Herbert...

PuppyMonkey · 19/01/2009 16:35

My fave on this thread is definitely Leylandi .

gauly · 19/01/2009 16:44

Perry - derived from "pear tree" apparently, though perhaps Poppy and Perry is a bit too many P's.

What about Oreander? Lovely name for a boy. (Or girl, but it's actually a boy's name)

BabyBaby123 · 20/01/2009 11:59

what does it have to be plant related just because you have a Poppy?

LadyThompson · 20/01/2009 12:02

I meant OLEANDER. Not had much sleep. Sorry

belgo · 20/01/2009 12:04

Douglas ( ok it's a tree, not a flower)

LadyThompson · 20/01/2009 13:00

Because, BabyBaby123, names of siblings have to go together. Otherwise you end up with kids like the brothers I heard of last week:

Romulus

and

....Martin.

Was their mother having a brainstorm?

belgo · 20/01/2009 13:17

at Ladythompson

Lancelottie · 20/01/2009 13:33

But you could always widen the definition a bit and go for 'Other-natural-entity' names!

Poppy & Olive-r?
Poppy & Robin?
Poppy & Garth (garden)?
Poppy & Adam (earth)?

MissGT · 20/01/2009 13:49

I am a Rowan, and a girl (laydee even!). Brooke Shields has a girl called Rowan too... But agree, is def unisex. My worst bit is that every time I go to Scotland to visit DPs family, they all pronounce it 'Rawen'!

DownyEmerald · 20/01/2009 14:11

Reed

loobeylou · 20/01/2009 18:42

i know a boy called Berry

or how about Budd?

ceeceeanne · 22/01/2009 15:04

I like Nettle for a boy but would only use if i was a pop star!
Bracken is nice too. Leaf?
