Harriet Suzanne?

At the last count I've started 963 threads about being useless not very good at finding a name for our DD.

Harriet is about as close as we've got to agreeing on a name. Suzanne is the middle name regardless.

Opinions please on the name - and please don't just say YES to shut me up and get me off the forum

I have a baby Harriet and I adore the name. Another contender was Susannah so I can't argue with Suzanne. Love it, go for it

Fimbo · 02/01/2009 16:18

Yes, that's a serious yes btw.

I know a gorgeous little Harriet known as Hattie.

AuntieMaggie · 02/01/2009 16:19

Harriet is nice but harriet suzanne is a bit of a mouthful! Not that it matters cos most people don't use their middle names anyway.

paolosgirl · 02/01/2009 16:19

Love them both - go for it!

(as if you need my permission )

SnowballsintheSky · 02/01/2009 16:21

DD has two big middle names and is an appalling mouthful but we reasoned that your middle name is not something you use every day so it matters not.

brimfull · 02/01/2009 16:23

lovely
both of them
I prefer Suzanne Harriet though.

Plonker · 02/01/2009 16:25

Lovely name

Prefer Emily though

pinsanon · 02/01/2009 16:27

I like Suzanne as a name (and the variations it offers) but the wife doesn't really like it. It was her mum's name so it's in her memory really.

Plonker you owe me a new keyboard after I just laughed and spat coffee all over this one

HArriet waas in my top5 girls names but had two boys, so I love it and it is still a bit unusual
I think the 2 names go nicely together. Go for it!

eandh · 02/01/2009 16:34

Fab fab fab name (not biased at all even though dd2 is Hattie )

LiffeyAnnaLivia · 02/01/2009 18:16

Harriet wouldn't be a name I'd choose but if you can agree, get out the champagne. Hettie or Hattie are ok.

mogwai · 02/01/2009 19:46

Hattie is lovely

Don't like Suzanne, think it's a bit tarty. Sorry. Must have known some tarty Suzannes!

TheFallenMadonna · 02/01/2009 19:48

Yes.

Now get that child registered FGS!

Seriously - nice name. Go for it!

NorktasticNinja · 02/01/2009 19:53

Harriet. Yes, 'tis good, get her registered!

How about Harriet Violet Suzanne or Harriet Suzanne Rose? Would that work with her surname?

aidansyummymummy · 02/01/2009 19:55

Harriet yes! Make that appointment before you change your mind!

LongDroopyBoobyLady · 02/01/2009 19:56

I love Harriet - but that's because I have one, although being a teenager now answers to "Harri" only.

Yes yes yes!

babyjamas · 02/01/2009 20:22

Harriet - lovely. We have a Harriet, universally known as Hattie. her middle name is Kate (which is a family name as i think your Suzanne is). never had any negative comments - it's not hugely popular but not in any way unusual.

newpenny · 02/01/2009 22:01

Love it.

Our third is Harriet Cecilia (Cecilia a family name).

Heated · 02/01/2009 22:05

I have a real soft spot for Susannah, either as a first or 2nd name.

Harriet is classic.

pinsanon · 03/01/2009 01:55

Altho we don't plan on having any more I might save Violet for any little miracles that turn up!

Hello everyone! Im Pinsanons wife. I thought it was about time I had my say!!!!

Naming a girl is defo much harder than naming a boy.
Our dd is very petite and cute and I want to give her a name that is girly. Unfortunatly all the names I like HAPPEN to be all the popular ones. Harriet is the only name that we both like although I think we are both not sure our dd is a "Harriet". With our son I just knew he was a Sam straight away but I can't find a name that makes me feel that with our daughter....ahhhhh why is that?
Suzanne is my mothers name which I wanted as a 2nd name in her memory but Im not keen on it otherwise so wouldnt have it as a first name.

bessmum · 03/01/2009 11:00

Harriet sounds like the perfect fit - go for it
