How do you say Clementine?

Help!

Work colleague has just emailed to say she has had a baby girl, named Clementine.

I have to ring her tomorrow. She is the sort to be offended if I get it wrong.

Is it Clemen TEEN or Clemen TYNE?

I too think Clemen-tyne for the girl and Clemen-teen for the fruit.

Definitely to rhyme with WINE. If it rhymes with Bean, then you are talking about one of those little satsuma type things.

Hmmm. Puzzling.
Wasn't Winston Churchill's wife called Clementine? Sure I've heard her called Clemen-teen on the telly. (Not that that's any guarantee it's correct of course... )
