What mame could be shortened to "Bo", I don't know why, but I love the nickname Bo.
I like traditional, classic names inc old english but want to be able to shorten it to somthing really sweet.
I liked the idea of someone naming their son Hugo and for short "Huggs". That's what gave me the idea.

For a boy, how about Boaz? (Old Testament, I think.)

pramspotter · 29/09/2008 14:35

Beauregard?

For Boys?

Boden (old french name, not the store)

Boone

Booker

Boy

Boyd

Brody

all these could be shortened to Bo.

pramspotter · 29/09/2008 14:35

I didn't mean boy for a name. That was a typo.

I used to be in love with a Bosie . He is the only person I have ever met with that name and was in a Birdseye fish finger advert in the early 80's.

jellygirl · 03/10/2008 19:36

Bo is a Swedish boys name.
It means to live (modern swedish).
In old norse it means householder- thus a strong, reliable most treasured person.

bikerunski · 05/10/2008 17:03

Come on MNers.... BODEN!

laughinglil · 30/10/2008 22:46

my dd is Isla Bo I love it x

nappyaddict · 01/11/2008 12:05

why not just Bo? Not the spelling Beau though - that is a boy's name. Isabeau is a very old name which comes from Elizabeth but they changed it to Isabelle when they realised Beau was the masculine word for beautiful in French and Belle the feminine.
