I like the name Claire but am wondering if it's too popular. Any other ideas?

Just list a few! I like Anouk, Elouise, Elodie and Isabelle.

Really don't like Christelle though

Anna8888 · 19/09/2008 21:18

Nat(h)alie and Isabelle are the names of the mid-1960s. A bit dated now. Nicole also dated.

ggglimpopo · 19/09/2008 22:47

I love Hortense!

The French calendar marks a saint's name for each day here

There are some great names, and some truly wacky ones.

pointydog · 19/09/2008 23:00

I liked Celine

ggglimpopo · 19/09/2008 23:03

Celine = Dion.....

ggglimpopo · 19/09/2008 23:05

Oh, and Laurence is a girl's name in France. One of my very favourite women is called Laurence.

pointydog · 19/09/2008 23:09

Laurence was popular years agio - is it stil lpopular? Is Magali stil popular?

ggglimpopo · 19/09/2008 23:10

I know two Magalies. I don't know any Laurences under thirty.

Sazisi · 19/09/2008 23:12

I also like Emile. And Estelle too..
I knew an (Irish) woman called Noelle; might go with surname? But maybe a bit Christmassy

branflake81 · 20/09/2008 08:00

A lot of the names suggested on here are quite middle aged in France. I was a teacher in France until recently, some of hte kids I taught were:

Megane

Marie
Morgane
Alicia
Oceane
