At last I have thought of another boys name I like!

If you have read any of my other threads, you will know that the only name DH and I agree on for a boy is Harry and although it is a fine name (if a little popular at the mo) I have doubts because of family reasons.

The only other name I have like is Dexter and I just don't know if I'm brave enough to use it. For every 1 person that likes the name I seem to find 5 that hate it.

I guess really I am probaby more comfortable with more traditional names.

Now I have had a thought today about using Edward. I have allways discounted because I don't like Eddy but how about if I shorten to Ted or Teddy when he is little?
What do you think?

I like Edward, love Teddy when little, also what about Bear Gryls from Born Survivor.....he is Edward, bear is cute .

my 16week old is Edward - i love it - can be shortened to Ted,. Teddy or Ned.

I like the name Edward too, and like Op not keen on Ed/Eddy as nn. I actually love the nn Ned best, but Ted is good too.

Also taught a Ned whose 'real' name was Edward. I like Ned as a shortened version, it's a bit different! Ted / Teddy also great though!

Edward is ok but don't like Ed or Eddy at all. Teddy or Bear are cut nick names. Bear Gryls is gorgeous

i have an edward - who is eddy, but he suits it - his twin bro is Arthur and we are now struggling to think of another boys name that goes with them should dc3 be a boy.....

Dexter is cool, but i am watching Dexter on the FX channel and he's a serial killer, so not sure i'd use it, even though he's lush!

I have an Eddie, we call him Edward bear.
I obviously love the name. His best friend at sxhool is called Teddy!

is Max short for something? We like Tilly for a girl, but would 'name' her Matilda. Max i guess is Maxwell or Maximillian?

can't use it myself because it's the name of my ex boyfriend, who is now married to my best friend. It just wouldn't work!
We also seriously considered Dexter but it didn't feel right in the end.

My Edward was always going to be Teddy when I was pregnant but it has never suited him - he now gets Edward, Eddy, Ed & Bear in equal use!

We got down to a shortlist in the end and named our DS the one that suited him best once he was born... figured we'd taken time naming our cats to suit their appearance and personality and thought our baby deserved the same courtesy

We had middle names (for girl or boy) all agreed then a short list, pretty much all with the same letter to avoid fuck ups with the intials.....ended up with a little Arthur - because it's a family name and was really unusual, although it seems to be getting much more popular

Only the list got chucked out in hospital so we'll have to start again when / if we have another
