Hmm. Not a big no-no but it's really not necessary. Unless you come across a very lovely name that doesn't have too obvious a link

I was due on Christmas day and was going to have the middle name Christina. It is also a family name. As it happened, I was 7 weeks early and my sister, who was born in July 3 years later, got Christina as a middle name instead. My mum really wanted one of her children to have it.

True story - Friends cousin was born around Christmas. His mum wanted to give him a christmassy name. His dad was from a czech backround and wanted to honour this. So they compromised and called him Wenceslaus! Moral of the story - pick a name you truly love, whatever the time of year

I have two children born within a week of Christmas. Ds was due on Christmas day. I'd avoid Christmas names, Christmas birthdays are hard enough. I tried to get a birthday cake in Tescos a few years ago - 'We don't do them at this time of year'...(Lydia is beautiful)

Our Dd was a week late and arrived on Boxing Day. I mentioned names like Noelle and Gabrielle(Gabrielle before she was late), but we decided it felt corny for us.

The (female) chaplain at my secondary school had a dd, born on Christmas Day and named her Holly.

Pity the poor dd, who has a Christmassy name, her birthday on Christmas day and her mum works on that day, doing probably 3 Christmas services!

Carole would be very appropriate and you can be guaranteed no-one else will be calling their child that.

Would not give a Xmassy first name but I was born near Xmas and got Carol as one of my middle names.

Make sure you tell everyone they are never to give your little one combined Xmas and Birthday pressies, it's sooo disappointing and very unimaginative .
