Really like it, but wonder if it will be confused with Lauren which I don't like as much?

I like it. Also Wilow (although that is my friend's dog's name!) and Lara.

Beautiful. I don't think it will be confused with Lauren, because they actually sound very different (the R sounds different).

OurHamsterisevil · 07/07/2008 21:00

I think its lovely

katz · 07/07/2008 21:01

I like it, but then I like Lauren and Laura too, and the French translation Laure. Unusual without being weird.

S1ur · 07/07/2008 21:04

very topical re Olympics.

I like it, its softer than Lauren and there have been some very smart and talented women called Laurel.

hiccymapops · 07/07/2008 21:05

AbstractMouse · 07/07/2008 21:07

I really like it , unusual.

greenelizabeth · 07/07/2008 21:21

I really like Laurel. It's so much more beautiful than Lauren. Lauren is ok, but I could never understand why Lauren was chosen over Laurel and not the other way 'round.

I know two sisters in their early forties called Laurel and Briony. Their brother is Rowan!!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 07/07/2008 21:22

Doesn't it mean Bay Leaf?

MmeLindt · 07/07/2008 21:23

Lovely.

Alishanty · 07/07/2008 21:31

I used to wish my name was Laurel when I was little. Like it.

S1ur · 07/07/2008 21:33

Indeed means many lovely things, from latin for bay leaf I think. associated with honour (crown of) and achievement and not something to be rested on

CristinaTheAstonishing · 07/07/2008 21:50

Laurel has the same meaning as Daphne bay leaf
