Names that aren't shortened

Hi everyone! I'm looking for suggestions for both boys and girls names that can't be nicknamed/shortened, or not usually shortened if that makes sense. For me personally I'm really not keen on names that eventually end up as nicknames such as Ellie, Liv, Ed, Ol that kind of thing. I don't have a theme as such, but would like to avoid common names ie. Top 100. It doesn't have to be one, but I do love vintage names (think the kind of names you see in your local church ground). I know most may be popular names now as they all come back around eventually! But very open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance for helping!!

reminds me of that scene in Friends when Joey asked Ross if his name was short for something 🤣

If you really want something that can’t be shortened, it can only have one syllable. All the suggested names that end in ‘a’ will have the a knocked off. Laura will be Lau, Emma will be Em etc. anything ending with a y will be the same - Lucy will be Luce.

And you’ll very likely find that a one syllable name will be lengthened! Joe will be Joey etc.

Just pick a name you love and use it.

I agree with others who have said most names can (and will) be shortened - and if not, they get lengthened!

I wanted names that when shortened, they wouldn't become a 'proper' name in their own right. So for example, I wouldn't have picked Benjamin as Ben is a 'proper' name but Harry would be fine as H or Haz aren't. Likewise, no to Eleanor because of Ellie or Elle, but yes to something like Daisy or Poppy. Does that make sense?!

How about:
Owen
Rory
Amos
Seth
Jake
Ciaran

Willow
Piper
Ada
Ivy
Darcy
