Thoughts on Cecelia with non Cece, and ideas for a full name for Gigi

What do people think of this? nickname cece or is it too old fashioned? we will call her Cece but will of course get cecelia at school ect.

For reference we have a Rafferty nn Raffy so like slightly different but not unheard of names.

I also love Gigi but can’t find a ‘full’ name I like!!

Cece is a lot nicer than Gigi.

Georgina full name for gigi

Traditional spelling is Cecilia with a I in the middle, which you may want to choose if you don't want her to have to spell her name for the rest of her life.

I'm related to a Cecilia and she likes her name.

I know a Cecilia called CeCe so I think it’s lovely.

GiGi is usually Georgina but these days lots of Grandmas use Gigi, so thst might be worth considering.

I much prefer the traditional spelling Cecilia- you can still use Cece (or Ceci).

Georgina, Georgia, Georgette, Gina, Genevieve, Giselle, Virginia, Giovanna, Giulia.

Okay think this has confirmed I prefer Cece, what do people think? I like names that can suit all ages.

Cecelia is nice but more commonly spelt as Cecilia I think. Personally I prefer Cecily or even Cecile.

I know a woman who goes by Gigi. She is called Gabriella, with middle name Grace, but has been known as Gigi from birth.

Gigi just reminds me of that notorious movie about prostitution. I just see it as a tragic ‘hooker‘ name.

My Gigi (one of her many nicknames!) is Georgiana.

I know a French Ghislaine, who goes by Gigi.

Has this name got more popular recently? Heard a few people picking it. The only caution I'd give (being friends with a Ruby!) is whether people singing the song would bother you. Probably won't be an issue when she starts school.

I love Gianna for Gigi. Traditionally I think it was a short for Josephine in France, but you you have lots of options

Cece is fine as a short form for Cecilia (the standard spelling), but I do think Cecilia is a bit of a mouthful. I prefer Cecily, Cicely and Celia.

Fyi Cecelia with a E would be pronounced across most European languages as 'seh seh lee ah', rather than 'seh see lee ah'. They would also pronounce Cece as seh seh. Bit of an arse if she decides to study/live abroad. Maybe Celia would be the way?

Gigi - could be Giovanna, common Italian nickname. But don't choose it if you're not Italian.
