Thoughts on Skylar for a girl? I find it pretty but cannot picture it on a woman who is 30+. I'm thinking it might be one of those names that doesn't age well because of the youthful quality it has.

Skylar makes me think of Skyscraper. Imagine if she is really tall.🏢

Skylar for me falls into the same bucket as Madison, Harper, Taylor, Dakota… very American and very 00s

Comes from the Dutch word meaning scholar. I prefer Skyler to Skylar

Why not Sorcha?

I think of Breaking Bad and American names. If you are from the UK, where I am, I think Skye is more pleasant and reminds me of the beautiful island.
