Well there are lots of other children in the UK with these names. Not my cup of tea though. Each to their own.

bogie · 22/06/2008 17:18

odd imo

nellyonthetelly · 22/06/2008 17:19

You have to be kidding? its hard to know what to say if your serious...

Flibbertyjibbet · 22/06/2008 17:22

I posted a few weeks ago to say with a laugh and a snort that I had heard a little girl being called Breeze on some american tv show.
So you can tell i think its silly. Or did you see my post and think 'ooo that name sounds unusual yet different'?

Zion? No no no no. Far too religious for my liking.

Breeze?

Please, please, I beg you, do not saddle a defenceless child with that. Please.

crunch · 22/06/2008 17:31

Fine as long as the surname suits.

Zion O'Reilly...erm, not so fine.

Zion - no and Breeze - no

greenelizabeth · 22/06/2008 17:35

Too self-consciously different.

True cool is a little bit more insouciant.

Blaise for a girl was something I saw on an American board, and while it's not my cup of tea, it's better than Breeze. To go with Z theme, I like Zena for a girl.

Zion for a boy is a bit Leon or Zeb would be slightly less odd.

crunch · 22/06/2008 17:35

I meant Zion fine with suitable surname BTW, Breeze is awful.

FrannyandZooey · 22/06/2008 17:35

Breeze would be ok except for the Febreze thing
shame as Breeze is a pretty word isn't it?

Zion not what I would choose, but it's a good strong name

Spidermama · 22/06/2008 17:35

I like Zion. I've known two and they both really suited it.

Not sure about Breeze but it's the kind of name which may well grow on people. As others have said they are unusual so be prepared for this sort of aghast, tittering near hysterical reaction. You'd need a thick skin and to live somewhere a bit liberal. (ie not in Slough perhaps.)

Tommy · 22/06/2008 17:39

are you Jewish? Otherwise Zion an "interesting" choice.
Breeze is pretty silly IMO

unknownrebelbang · 22/06/2008 17:41

I quite like Breeze tbh, although can see it being confused with febreze.

Not fussed on Zion.

Shoshe · 22/06/2008 17:44

OK going against the grgain I love Breeze.

schneebly · 22/06/2008 18:00

okay I have mild hippy leanings but..breeze? No.

Zion qiute cool as long as your surname is cool/unusual.

Zion Smith - No
Zion Zeffereli - Yes

Spidermama · 22/06/2008 18:42

narkymum hasn't been back.

Hulababy · 22/06/2008 18:46

Not my choice, but if you like them...use them.

But be prepared to deal with a whole range of opinions when you chose names that are a bit unusual.
