Emma is ok but the other two names are totally blurgh!

Alltheusefulitems · 29/04/2026 17:17

Velencia Jacqueline Emma is the best option of the two.

(I would have another think about misspelling Valencia too)

DeepFriedCreamEgg · 29/04/2026 17:21

Remember your baby will one day be an adult don't lumber them with an oddly spelt name that they will spend their whole life eye rolling.

Sincerely

One adult with a common oddly spelt name who never gets the emails she should get!

Please not Velencia - it sounds like a thrush treatment.

CodeAmber · 29/04/2026 17:32

Velencia isn’t a word, let alone a name!

EspanaPorfavor · 29/04/2026 17:39

Please spell Valencia properly, poor kid

JustLilacSloth · 29/04/2026 17:52

She will end up as Val or VJ for short - I don’t love the names - even more when spelt wrong!

SunnyWarrington · 29/04/2026 18:12

Velencia Jacqueline Emma...
PP are right, she will spend her life spelling it for people (I know what I'm talking about, posting under my real name) however it completely depends where you are now and where she ends up living. Growing up in Milton Keynes in the 80s, painful; living in London, complete acceptance 😎

Calliopespa · 29/04/2026 18:46

Velencia is like calling your child Florinse.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/04/2026 19:40

CeciliaMars · 29/04/2026 14:49

Also the first name feels incorrectly spelt. I’d assume you meant Valencia!

That’s what I thought as well.

Or Paryse. 😆

CodeAmber · 29/04/2026 20:10

It’s such a bad “re/unique spelling” I really hope the OP comes back and realises…. I know a Derreyn (pronounced Darren) and he curses his parents every day for giving him a “unique” name

Unnecessaryletter · 29/04/2026 20:17

If the Furies can spell Valencia properly, so can you. She'd just be judged, OP, all her life, and probably even looked down on. I'm not saying that's fair, but it will happen - even more than if she were just named 'Valencia'.

mathanxiety · 29/04/2026 20:17

Valencia Jacqueline Emma.

Not Velencia.

Not Jacquline.

Calliopespa · 29/04/2026 20:18

Screamingabdabz · 29/04/2026 19:45

Or Paryse. 😆

Or Dickota!

Unnecessaryletter · 29/04/2026 20:20

Make sure you read up on the city of Valencia, too.

sittingonabeach · 29/04/2026 20:21

Your child will be calling themselves Emma as soon as they can

Happytaytos · 29/04/2026 20:24

Velencia is not OK. Velencia is marginally better but still pretty awful. What about Just Emma or just Jacqueline?

DailyMaui · 29/04/2026 20:32

Have you considered Alycantey?

SconehengeRevenge · 29/04/2026 20:58

This thread is unexpectedly entertaining.

I'm getting Balonz vibes

Brainstorm23 · 29/04/2026 21:05

Velencia is a tragediegh. Don't lumber your poor child with this milestone.

I think the 3 names are too much of a mouthful, especially if you have a long/awkward surname.
I would just use Emma as a middle name.

Soontobe60 · 29/04/2026 22:01

If you call your child after a type of orange and a city in Spain, don’t be upset when she gets teased when she’s older!
I love my name s an adult, but as a teen I hated it because a diminutive of my name sounds quite rude and I was teased remorselessly at secondary school.
