I prefer Jawline to Velencia tbh.

LassiKopiano24 · 29/04/2026 16:25

Velencia Jacqueline Emma breaks up the ah sound at the ends.

The second option is unusual…

🤣

Your kid will spend their whole life spelling the name out and correcting pronunciation

So do Katherine, Catherine and Kathryn, Sophia and Sofia, Rachel and Rachael…… You get my point

Needs to be Valencia because otherwise her entire life is going to be spent correcting people.

Why do you want to name her after an orange?

It’s a city not an orange. Use the correct spelling. It’s tacky as it is( see the Furys) but Velencia is beyond tacksville!

I prefer Jawline to Velencia tbh.

And Jaws is such a cute short form.

Usually, when people say they are ‘crying laughing’ at something, it is mere hyperbole. But I actually have real tears

Sounds like a damning review of a make-up artist's efforts!🍊😬

ExOptimist · 29/04/2026 16:33

Velencia is just plain wrong, it makes you seem really stupid If you call her that. If you're giving her the name at least spell it correctly. It's a massively chavvy name, especially as it's now become known as the name of the Furys daughter.

Me too. So much so I’ve adopted it as my new three word username.

TheyGrewUp · 29/04/2026 16:35

Why do you pronounce Valencia as Velencia. a is for apple, not for echo

Valencia is fine (ish), Velencia is not fine.

Valencia Emma is better than Valencia Jacqueline, but both are better than using one as a second name and one as a third name.

I'd go with Emma Jacqueline.

Congrats on your baby.

They do, but in most of those instances, I don't think anyone would think 'blimey, do that kid's parents not actually know how that word name is spelt?'

Bigearringsbigsmile · 29/04/2026 16:45

Yes, definitely also an orange.

M and S do ice lollies made from Valencia Orange juice! You could serve them at the Christening OP!

You’ll forever be spelling Jawline.

I wouldn’t care tbh, it’s not like she is calling her Chlamydia is it! I’d rather be called Valencia than Margaret, its personal preference. The poor woman only wanted opinions on the middle names.

Same. Dripping off my jawline.

It’s a while since we’ve had a MN Classic, think this might be it!

Calliopespa · 29/04/2026 16:57

We've been a bit mean op though you loaded the gun with your typos. So in the interest of saying something helpful, I think if you go for a name like Valencia (and I honestly don't think the Velencia spelling is a thing), I think you need to calm it right down with the middle name.

Emma could work for this purpose - Valencia Emma - but something even more boring and less "bouncy sounding" (both ending in a) might offset it well, like Valencia Jane?

ETA I'd drop the notion of Jawline Jacqueline altogether. It's all too much together.

kscarpetta · 29/04/2026 16:57

Valencia Jacqueline Emma

sayitisntsoo · 29/04/2026 17:05

Misspelling names just screams chav OP - why would you do that to your child?

Not only are you misspelling the first name but why would you then also misspell Jacqueline?

Jacqueline Emma runs better than Emma Jacqueline.

Just please, for your kids sake spell them correctly. Otherwise when she submits a CV as an adult people will think she hasn't even bothered to check that she spelt her name correctly.

Xmasallergies · 29/04/2026 17:05

Stick with Valencia Emma 🙂

FishDogBird · 29/04/2026 17:09

I actually love Valencia and I think Valencia Jacqueline is nice too. I’d leave off Emma.

RoseField1 · 29/04/2026 17:11

Shannonramarni · 29/04/2026 15:15

typed to quickly never checked the spelling just noticed now, I meant Jaqueline and we want to spell Velencia how we say it rather than Valencia we like the ve start 😅

Don't do this FGS

ERthree · 29/04/2026 17:12

Going "off-piste with a name is not cool, edgy, funny or clever. It is just a PIA for your daughter who will forever have to spell out her name and will constantly be asked if her parents couldn't spell and that remark wears thin very quickly. Don't be that parent.
