Thoughts on Carrie?

Thoughts and impression of Carrie? It doesn't bother me that it's a bit outdated (as I'm not keen on the more modern popular names) but wonder if there is anything else that I'm missing.

I like it. As pp mentioned my references would be from the little house book series and carries war. Hadn't thought of satc or any horror movies till reading the comments. Carrie Fisher was a fabulous role model too.

In Derry Girls Carrie is referenced so for that alone it’d be a no from me.

FraterculaArctica · 29/04/2026 17:16

I associate it too strongly with Carrie Johnson.

Carrie is short, sweet and pretty. My first association would be Carrie Fisher but then I am of that generation.

Weeelokthen · 29/04/2026 17:22

Yes from me

LassiKopiano24 · 29/04/2026 17:25

Carrie is nice on its own imo she doesn’t need to be called Caroline.

When she is older her generation wont have a clue who Carrie Fisher/Bradshaw or Caroline Flack are.

Thistimearound · 29/04/2026 17:44

I think think it’s a lovely (nick)name. I would shorten from Caroline but others have suggested alternatives it could be short for.

TheseWordsAreMine · 29/04/2026 22:37

Call her Verity.
