Eden

Firebird83 · 26/04/2026 21:56

Polly feels more timeless. Amber and Eden feel like they would date.

Bournetilly · 26/04/2026 21:57

Eden. Definitely not Amber.

westcott · 26/04/2026 22:11

Depends on surname

Giraffehaver · 26/04/2026 22:38

Polly is delightful

AgentPidge · 26/04/2026 22:44

I like Amber, mainly because I know a lovely ( teenage) Amber. Not keen on Polly - it's too perky. Really don't like Eden. Sorry. None of them really excite me. I really love Lara. But there you go, we're all different!

Helpmechooseanamee · 26/04/2026 22:47

Definitely Polly. I really despise Eden, it is very 'of the moment' and I see it as more of a boys name.
Amber is pretty, a bit dated, but fine. Polly is cool, quirky and cute at the same time, and also under-used.
PJ Harvey is a very cool Polly!

LivingTheDreamish · 27/04/2026 01:37

Polly.

I’m not a fan of Polly. Amber and Eden are both nice.

I'm the reverse: Polly is sweet, and Amber and Eden aren't really my style.

Exactly.

paintedpanda · 27/04/2026 07:12

If I’d have had a girl she would have been Eden. It’s lovely.

Polly 9
Amber 9
Eden 7

Polly seems a bit of a little girl name to work for an adult. Amber and Eden are both lovely - I prefer Amber.

@mamaduckbone , Polly seems a bit of a little girl name to work for an adult.
@user2848502016 , Polly is too cutesy as an adult name

Polly Toynbee did OK with her 'cutesy', 'little girl name'. I know a doctor Polly, a neighbour when I was growing up was 'Aunty Polly' etc.
Current children are called things like Alfie, Archie, Ellie and Elsie.

RegalDiamondMonster · 30/04/2026 22:19

Polly is the least popular and will date slowest. It's fine, I prefer Molly though.

Amber is a bit 90s/00s but pretty. Ember is a more modern choice.

Eden is fine- 60th most popular girl's name in England and Wales and 270th boy's, so it is more used for girls.

17caterpillars1mouse · 30/04/2026 22:33

Love Amber

ItalianChineseIndianMexican · 30/04/2026 22:33

Amber

LoudPlumDog · 01/05/2026 13:51

Eden

tildathyme · 01/05/2026 13:57

I prefer Eden for a boy but they are all nice. I like Polly the best.

LilyLemonade · 01/05/2026 21:14

I really like Amber but they are all nice.

TheDonsDingleberries · 01/05/2026 22:22

I like Polly. Sally gives me a similar vibe.

bridgetreilly · 01/05/2026 23:45

Polly. I’ve never liked Amber and prefer Eden for a boy.

BoleynMemories13 · 02/05/2026 14:43

Eden is a guilty pleasure of mine in that it's not my usual style at all, but I do really like it (only for a girl, it definitely suits a girl more). I wouldn't worry about some people saying it's a boy's name as the stats definitely tell you otherwise. It's unisex, rather than tied to one gender, but even then it's currently comfortably in the top 100 for girls and nowhere near for boys, so I think most people will assume girl these days. I've also never known it to be Ee-den for a boy. I've heard Ed-in, which is a very different vibe. The Ee-den pronunciation is much more feminine.

Amber feels a bit dated. It has a bit of a 00s vibe to it.

Polly isn't for me. It's a bit twee.

Goldemsundown · 03/05/2026 08:58

Amber

Goldemsundown · 03/05/2026 08:59

I prefer holly and molly to polly, which makes me think of kettles

imusthavebrokenamirror · 03/05/2026 09:30

Eden (Edie) Absolutley love this name

Amber makes me think of a golden retriever

Polly don’t like this at all. I know a Polly and I struggle to use that name out loud for some reason. It’s a name she has chosen to be called rather than her given name of Pauline which I much prefer.

no idea why I don’t like it as I don’t mind Molly and actually quite like Holly but personally wouldn’t use any of them.
