Aurélie is a lovely alternative?

Oriana?

DinoDances · 24/04/2026 08:23

Love: Summer, Autumn, Sienna, Aurora

Like: Harper, Darcie, Avery

Dislike: Skylar, Piper, Nova, Savannah

You seem to like seasonal names and ones starting in A or S best looking at the list. So how about April, Juniper, Clementine, Celeste, Sadie, Stella, Sage, Serena, Briar

DailyRitual · 24/04/2026 08:26

Your taste isn’t mine. I’d read these as ‘Slightly dated American’?

Aurora if I had to, but I think a lot of people find it tricky to pronounce with the ‘r’s and the ‘au’ and ‘o’ sounds.

Mischance · 24/04/2026 08:36

Oh goodness - sorry but don't like any of them!

RegalDiamondMonster · 24/04/2026 09:59

Harper - really dislike, harsh sound
Summer - lovely if slightly dated
Darcie - not a nice sound
Autumn - ok
Sienna - nice but dated
Aurora - nice
Skylar - ok
Avery - not a fan, prefer it for a boy
Piper - i only like this because of Charmed (!) Otherwise would dislike it similarly to Harper.
Nova - not a fan
Savannah - nice

I'd go Savannah, Summer or Aurora.
Maybe similar vibe:

Marlowe
Maeva
Everly
Winter
Ember
Melody
Harmony
Spencer
Blair
Blake
Melissa

Harper - surname. Too associated with the Beckhams
Summer - nice meaning but not a nice sound
Darcie - downmarket and already dated.
Autumn - nice sound but too seasonal
Sienna - downmarket
Aurora - nice meaning but doesn't sound nice
Skylar - dreadful
Avery - dreadful. Office scales brand
Piper - quite a nice sound but downmarket
Nova - 1980s hatchback
Savannah - Chavannah

Oriana?

Aurelie = Orally. I wouldn't set a child up to a lifetime of this!

FatRosie · 24/04/2026 11:20

Orally or Oh really.

FatRosie · 24/04/2026 11:22

Mischance · 24/04/2026 08:36

Oh goodness - sorry but don't like any of them!

Same here. They seem downmarket and dated.

lemoncrisp · 24/04/2026 11:23

None of them to my taste (I'm old😁)

GingerBeverage · 24/04/2026 11:46

I like Summer and Avery, as I can imagine adult women with those names.

How about Riley, Romy, Wren, Nora, Ruby Addison.

Calliopespa · 24/04/2026 11:52

They are definitely all what I'd call "trend names" - though some less on trend now, which, ultimately, is the issue with this type of name. I say that not to be rude, but so you are aware that's how some will see them. I add that's a UK perspective I'm giving.

Probably Aurora is the most timeless, but like others, I find Aurelie (or actually Aurelia) prettier.

dancehysterical55 · 24/04/2026 11:58

Avery

Aurelia is lovely - I'd just foresee a life time of the poor girl having to spell it out / people mispronouncing

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 24/04/2026 12:09

Apart from Skylar I actually like all of them. I know a Summer and I’ve always thought what a beautiful unusual name.

Daffodilsinthespring · 24/04/2026 12:19

Harper - really dislike and too popular
Summer - love
Darcie - dated
Autumn - love
Sienna - nice but too popular
Aurora - don’t like the sound
Skylar - just no
Avery - love
Piper - shouldn’t be a first name
Nova - nice
Savannah - nice

Onefortheroad25 · 24/04/2026 12:24

I only like Avery from your list.

7238SM · 24/04/2026 12:25

I don't like Harper
I know a 50yr old man named D'Arcy so not keen on that.
Piper doesn't sound like a grown woman's name

The rest I find ok. I worked with a woman called Nova and her ancestry had come from Nova Scotia. I never associated her with the car.

Some other ideas:
Brooke
Fleur
Willow
Ferne
Odette
Imogen
Coralie
Verda

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 24/04/2026 13:05

I’m afraid that your taste is too unlike mine. As a PP said, Aurora if sampling from that population.

DailyRitual · 24/04/2026 13:28

I’m baffled by anyone using Piper as a name. It just conjures up a bagpiper puffing. I admire their skill, but it’s not that aesthetically pleasing a look. (See also trumpeters, oboists etc).

Thoughts on these baby girl names. Any stand outs? 💜❤️
