What do you think of Seth? (obv for a boy!!)I like old names and think its a bit different as dont know anyone with that name. But it does conjure up images of an old gamekeeper with huge sideburns and looks a bit like cat weasel (think im showing my age!!)

Mmmm Seth Lakeman is yummy.

DS2 WAS Seth for two days but then we decided it just didn't suit him. He's extremely blonde and for some reason the name seems to belong better with someone dark and ruddy.

PuppyMonkey · 14/06/2008 22:05

and you want to make sure you don't know anyone with a lisp.

grumpybum · 14/06/2008 22:09

My cousin is called Seth - my uncle always calls him Zeth but other than that everyone loves the name. He is young and cool and handsome with a good career, lots of money and has a wicked sense of humour. So I say 'go for it' Its a great name.

I met a little boy today called Seth...he was lovely and very cute and blond and just a year old and already one for the ladies as he took centre stage in our peer supporter training session today

I love it.

a collegue of mine had a baby last autumn, and when i told her year 11 class (secondary school teachers ) that she'd had a little boy naturally they asked the name, to which i replied Seth and the generl response was 'oh.....ok' personally i agree with the fact that it depends where you live, but for me its too American

BellaBear · 15/06/2008 08:01

omg lotspot, do you know me??!!

you, know, a while back I started a 'isn't seth lakeman gorgeous' thread, you lot must have been asleep or something! glad to know it's not just me

Weegiemum · 15/06/2008 10:45

I missed the 'Seth lakeman is Gorgeous' thread?

I must be losing my touch.

Of course, only think he is gorgeous cos he looks like my dh (when I met him 19 years ago!)

rolledhedgehog · 15/06/2008 17:06

I have a 5 yr old Seth. He was Adam and Eve's third son (the original Seth...not my son).

I have had a few raised eyebrows but I think it is a gorgeous name.

SummatAndNowt · 15/06/2008 17:19

LOVE IT!

It's one of our boy choices.

falcon · 15/06/2008 17:25

I think it's a great name, strong and beautiful, a little different but not so unusual as to be absurd.

MsDemeanor · 15/06/2008 17:28

Nice. a proper name with history. And rather cool, I think.

lunavix · 15/06/2008 17:29

love it!

RIBS · 16/06/2008 12:46

I think the consensus is fairly pro Seth!! I've got to admit I did think of the same from seeing Seth Lakeman at V festival last year. Thanks to everyone for the input!! (and the pics!!!)
