What do you think of Seth? (obv for a boy!!)I like old names and think its a bit different as dont know anyone with that name. But it does conjure up images of an old gamekeeper with huge sideburns and looks a bit like cat weasel (think im showing my age!!)

Love it. Friend has just has a Seth, and he's DELICIOUS. And not old at all.

Caz10 · 14/06/2008 13:59

exactly lovetobake!! i had it on my boys list but dh hated it, luckily we had a girl.

this is seth...

Anglepoise · 14/06/2008 14:35

Apparently he's the Egyptian god of evil ... Perhaps that's why I think of malevolence!

Pinkchampagne · 14/06/2008 17:22

I really like the name Seth.

Tortington · 14/06/2008 17:23

love it

thats tha then - you need no other opinion

ByTheSea · 14/06/2008 17:24

I'm sorry. It's one of my least favourite names of all times. Along with Todd.

And unfortunately, where I live, people would likely pronounce it Sef.

QuintessentialShadows · 14/06/2008 17:24

And this is ... [http://www.ancient-egypt-online.com/seth-the-egyptian-god.html Seth]]

Be prepared for mayhem.
Lovely name though.

QuintessentialShadows · 14/06/2008 17:25

And this is ... Seth

PuppyMonkey · 14/06/2008 17:27

I think of Seth Armstrong from Emmerdale Farm, not any trendy Seths.

VictorianSqualor · 14/06/2008 17:27

I really like it, as in really like it.

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2008 17:33

I adore Seth. It's on my list should I ever let myself have another. It's a fabulous name.

Mummyandi · 14/06/2008 17:37

It actually makes me think of Seth Green the actor who plays dr evils son in the Austin Powers movies and he is quite sweet. I like it. I know DH qould never go for it though

Weegiemum · 14/06/2008 17:41

I like it. I really like this Seth

Very dishy and exceptionally talented!

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2008 17:42

Oh Weegiemum, a kindred spirit.

When he plays his fiddle and flexes his forearm, I can't breathe for lusting after him.

And I'm a librarian, I don't lust.

Weegiemum · 14/06/2008 17:49

I saw him live last summer and he was soooooo dreamy! And of course an exceptionally talented musician, which is what I was appreciating!

Caz10 · 14/06/2008 19:58

Oh wow I have never heard of him before - but I certainly like the look of him!!

getbackinyouryurtjimjams · 14/06/2008 20:15

I went to primary school with that Seth

BellaBear · 14/06/2008 20:19

My son Seth was kind of named after Seth Lakeman - in that that is where we got the idea from. Going to see him again in July at Folk by the Oak

(SL obviously, not DS!)

Fab name, btw

BellaBear · 14/06/2008 20:22

to an earlier post - it can't be that popular, it isn't even in the top 100 boys' names in the UK. Yet. Probably be in the top ten now we've used it, judging by this thread!

getbackinyouryurtjimjams · 14/06/2008 20:27

I used to love his house because it had 2 staircases in iirc. I was obsessed by houses with 2 staircases in when I was a kid.

LaylaandSethsmum · 14/06/2008 20:32

Love it as its my DS name, as for poularoty it depends where you live round here people still give me odd looks when I use his name !

snooks · 14/06/2008 20:34

love it too

Rachmumoftwo · 14/06/2008 20:38

I saw Seth Lakeman supporting The Levellers and he was very swoonsome.

Weegiemum · 14/06/2008 20:46

When I saw him he was supporting the Proclaimers. Certainly more swoonsome than them!

Mum2BabyRoo · 14/06/2008 20:58

Love the name - go for it!
