Crap. I can't think of any boy names I like at all.

If this next baby is a boy it will probably end up being called number 2.

There's one name I really like but DH hates it, and there's not another name I can think of that I'd be happy with.

Anyone else in the same boat? Maybe it'll be a girl, that would be slightly easier...

Pink - Magnus is what DS was going to be (I saw a rather hunky one in an Ikea catalogue!) if he wasn't who he is... DH not so keen last tiem but wants to call the next one Magnus. I now have a friend with a son called Magnus though and am not sure if it would be weird!

We are in exactly the same position, DS was really hard and got the only name we could agree on. It's even harder as DP is hungarian and we would like a hungarian middle name.

I like Joshua and Jack but Jack really doesn't go with the surname.

loopylollipop · 03/06/2008 19:34

We have the same problem - I sympathise!

As for scandi names, how about Anders or Otto?

belgo · 04/06/2008 06:59

Jorick/Yorick

PinkPussyCat · 04/06/2008 08:30

I used to know a Janek (pronounced Yannick)

Still prefer Magnus though!

belgo · 04/06/2008 08:41

I like Yannick.

bohemianbint · 04/06/2008 13:04

Yannick is nice.

Well, I ran some more ideas past DH last night, no dice.

Please god this baby is a girl or we're in trouble...

ButterflyMcQueen · 05/06/2008 17:59

isnt it divine - sweet yet sexy for a man?

we used it as a middle name and have a nice little accent on it Séan

pointydog · 05/06/2008 18:05

it is indeed a sexy name for a man. And a very robust name for a boy.

3andnomore · 05/06/2008 18:22

bohemian, I have a Sven, Yannic and Flynn, and that flows kinda nice
Scandinavian names, otehr then Sven that are nice, imo, are:
Malte
Soren (can't get that o on my keyboard, though)
Lars
Leif (but could cause problems in england with the pronounciation)
Ole

Thankyouandgoodnight · 06/06/2008 09:17

Hi I was the same as you with girls names - I only liked one (which I loved) and DH wouldn't hear of it. It took about 3 weeks for me to be able to take it off my wish list and start again and I too am a real fusspot and was really struggling to like anything else as I found them all so ORDINARY. Anyway - we think we've found another name that suits us both.

bohemianbint · 07/06/2008 12:13

I've often wondered how you pronounce Leif, is it like "Leaf" or "Life"?

I quite like it but it's only a step away from calling your kid River, and looks what happens there...

We keep coming back to Magnus. I'm not 100% sure but it's the closest to common ground we can get, apparently. I quite like Sennen, but not sure as a boy's first name. And again, DH says no.

jollyjane · 07/06/2008 12:28

What about Freddie? Frederick?

evenhope · 07/06/2008 14:28

Leif Garrett the singer was definitely "Leaf"

bohemianbint · 07/06/2008 18:44

Leif... It is quite cool, isn't it...
