As we have been having a run on names from the 30s/40s (we do seemed to have skipped the 50s/60s names)is your name now being mentioned in the name list now.

BTW mine isnt but then i@m a 50's kid, but DS a 70's kid has been mentioned recently.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pinkchampagne · 30/05/2008 08:14

I was born in the early 70s and don't think my name is yet set for a come back!

belgo · 30/05/2008 08:14

nope!
(born in 1970s).

SoupKitchen · 30/05/2008 08:16

Born in the early 70's but have a name that has never really gone away there must be hundreds of thousands of us by now.

EyeballsintheSky · 30/05/2008 08:18

Yep. Born in 70's and my name appears on every comeback thread. Not surprised. There were 70 girls with my name in every class in the school and luckily it's not a name that dates in the same way that something like Jason has.

AbbeyA · 30/05/2008 08:18

I like my name because it isn't dated it isn't very popular but there are always a few. I think that names that have dated and are making a come back like Ruby, Elsie, Sidney etc will become dated again.

cyteen · 30/05/2008 12:03

Mine gets the occasional mention but doesn't seem to be set for a big comeback, which seems a shame as I think it's lovely. Apparently it wasn't that common in the 70s when I was born either, so maybe it's just too good for the hoi polloi

dizzydixies · 30/05/2008 12:04

I think I've seen it once and nearly fell over when I did see it

its from the Waltons era

I was born early 70s and I haven't noticed my name being used these days. When I wa born it was a very popular name.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 30/05/2008 12:09

Nope.

Never.

Born in the 60s.

ChippyMinton · 30/05/2008 12:13

Both my boring classic & v popular in the 60's names have been suggested this week

JessJess3908 · 30/05/2008 12:15

Born in the 70s and my name has soared up the charts and is now in the top five. I often get confused when young mum's shout out my name in the supermarket. I

still love my name tho, even if it is set to become common as muck [sink]

JessJess3908 · 30/05/2008 12:16

LOL - that was meant to be wink

Alishanty · 30/05/2008 16:22

I was born in the 80's and although my name is a classic that has never gone away, it is more popular now than it was then.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 16:24

Mine has never been common enough to go out or come back!

jumpingbeans · 30/05/2008 16:26

I'm a 50s Julia, and i smiled big time when i saw it on here as a "What do think" name

RickyTigerfeetson · 30/05/2008 16:29

I have seen my name suggested once or twice (or a different spelling of the same name) but I've yet to hear of anyone using it. It was very common in the 70's but I have never met anyone younger than about 25 with my name.

My middle name is also mentioned which frankly makes me lol because I have always loathed it - it was my Nan's name, she was born in 1918 or thereabouts.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/05/2008 16:30

I'm a 70's Samantha, but I'm not sure it has ever been a popular name, and not sure it ever will tbh.

tiredemma · 30/05/2008 16:31

I'm Emma- I love my name and would have it for my child ( if it wasnt my name of course!)

Collision · 30/05/2008 16:33

I saw mine this morning!

I was shocked tho as it is pretty but not popular at all.

Shoshe · 30/05/2008 17:04

I've only ever seen mine on Scottish name threads.
It has never been popular in England , although is in Scotland (I think I left Scotland at 5 weeks old) but I heard a litle girl called it here in Dorset yesterday!

rolledhedgehog · 30/05/2008 19:16

I am early 70's baby but my name got popular in 80's and I can't see it making a comeback for many years. Seen my sister's name on threads though...she got the better name!

wheresthehamster · 30/05/2008 19:20

50's here. But I can't imagine anyone in any era choosing it. Never been popular and never want it to be. Revolting - my parents must have really hated me

pickie · 30/05/2008 19:25

70's and no not in the UK but yes on the continent

VictorianSqualor · 30/05/2008 19:27

My name has never ever been named on any naming thread.
Ever.
It's spelt funny but even the traditional spelling hasn't appeared
