Aisling - o love this name. Worked with a girl called Aisling back in the early 00’s and she was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

She did spend half her working week telling people how to pronounce it though!

Yes, but as pp says Eve and Eva have been used to translate Aoife . It may be ‘wrong’ (in the Irish translation of the Bible Eve is Éabha, pronounced Ava) but it was certainly fairly common.
Aoife MacMurrough, married to Strongbow, was also known as Eva of Leinster.

In the same way I’m not sure you’d call siblings Áine and Ann, or Dónal and Daniel, though I’m not sure if pp was suggesting Eve as a middle name in which case it wouldn’t really matter imho.

Yeah I'd only associate Eva/Eve with eabha I've never heard it associated with Aoife though. Tbh I don't really know anyone who refers to anyone in the anglicised version e.h Aine/Anne so I don't think it matters as such

Also in Ireland and find Erin a bit cringe on an actual Irish person. Feels a bit plastic paddy, like Shannon or Colleen.

Yeah I know one Erin and her mother is from England (the dad is Irish though)

It certainly used to be, though I think it’s become a lot more popular now. Many still see it as an expat type of name though, like Colleen.

It’s the same as calling your DD Ireland, which is a bit odd when you live there.

Exactly

Erin or Aisling
I really like Lydia btw. It doesn’t ‘go’ with Aoife, but I’m not sure that matters if you love the name? They will be their own person!
I know of sisters called Aoife and Roisin - both wonderful names

I know a couple of different Niamh & Aoife sisters (not that that is helpful since Niamh isn't on the list :P )
