Aislinn is a nice option I think too

Why unless you're in Ireland? I'm in Ireland and there's plenty of Erin's

It’s like living in London and naming your child London.

Fairyvocals · 11/08/2025 21:36

Aisling. Erin feels a bit makey-uppy Irish.

Sheggsie · 11/08/2025 21:46

Caoimhe

they sound nice together.

user2848502016 · 11/08/2025 21:48

I like Aisling

holachicatita · 11/08/2025 21:50

Erin is beautiful, and to the people who say it is cringe if you're in Ireland.. it most definitely isn't.

mmgirish · 11/08/2025 22:03

Erin

It doesn't matter. Pick a name you like for your next child. Nobody cares if it "goes".

Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius · 11/08/2025 22:06

Aisling definitely of the three

Though I think Ciara sounds lovely with it too

Mumofgirls2017 · 11/08/2025 23:14

I like Lydia best but Erin flows better with your sibset. Not keen on Aisling but I like Aislinn.

Crispynoodle · 12/08/2025 00:09

My friends DDs are called Aoife and Orlagh

mathanxiety · 12/08/2025 00:53

Aoife and Erin is too predictable.

Aisling or Lydia would both be lovely.

Erin.
But I think I prefer a single syllable for the second name.

Like stuff like...
Wren
Lee
Belle
Jean
Lark
Jade
Eve
Anne

Aoife and Eve are the same name.

user1492757084 · 12/08/2025 03:02

Aisling

Others ..
Jane
Caterin

Aoife and Eve are the same name.

It's not the same name or meaning, that's just how it's been anglicised

Emanwenym · 12/08/2025 10:00

Different meanings:
Aoife - Wikipedia
Eve - Wikipedia

It certainly used to be, though I think it’s become a lot more popular now. Many still see it as an expat type of name though, like Colleen.

It’s the same as calling your DD Ireland, which is a bit odd when you live there.

Yes, but as pp says Eve and Eva have been used to translate Aoife . It may be ‘wrong’ (in the Irish translation of the Bible Eve is Éabha, pronounced Ava) but it was certainly fairly common.
Aoife MacMurrough, married to Strongbow, was also known as Eva of Leinster.

In the same way I’m not sure you’d call siblings Áine and Ann, or Dónal and Daniel, though I’m not sure if pp was suggesting Eve as a middle name in which case it wouldn’t really matter imho.

Aoife and Eve are the same name.

Oooh, good point!
