Anyone have an Austin?

Hi!
Baby boy is 5 days old and we are circling around deciding on the name Austin, nn Ozzie. My slight concern is that, even though it is actually an old English name, it might be seen as a bit American in feel which is a bit different to our other two children’s very classic names. But not sure that really matters.
Does anyone have an Austin and if so what
kind of comments do you get if any? Do you use any particular nicknames?
Any other feedback?
thanks everyone

Austin doesn't say Texas to me at all.

I know several Irish Austins.

Same always thought of Austin as an Irish name.

The older generations will think of cars, younger Austin Powers, and it seems relatively common these days but use it if you like it and those considerations do not bother you.

Ozzie is a shortened version of Oswald, which is less commonly used and is due for a revival.

Great name

It’s a lovely, classic name - I don’t think of it as American at all. We know one Austin.

I have a toddler called Austin, so he doesn't have any comments on his name yet. I have had no comments from others about his name either. Apart from the odd person mishearing it as oscar because it's so popular. I love it, I thought we would call him oz but we haven't yet. I am guessing that will happen when he is older. Especially with his friends. He also has a very traditional middle name so he could use that if he liked

Austin Healey springs to my mind as first boyfriend had one. I like the name, it’s not pretentious but classic, unusual without being ‘try hard unusual’, easy to spell, easy to pronounce, just a good solid name.

Yes when I was at junior school. Or rather my parents did, an 1100 traveller if I remember, very unreliable.

Awww one of my DCs has a best friend called Austin - we are very rural so it’s v traditional English feeling vs making you think of Texas. It’s a lovely name

Yes I was going to say, I like it but it is short for Augustine
